HERE’S WHAT WAS PICKED UP: “Alcatraz” – A new series from J.J. Abrams (”Lost,” “Fringe”) starring everybody’s favorite “Lost” boy Jorge Garcia in another mysterious premise. The crime drama takes place in Alcatraz, as a team investigates the unexplained reappearance of the prison’s 1960’s inhabitants in present day.
“The Finder” — The “Bones” spinoff starring George Stults and Michael Clarke Duncan, which got a decent sampling a few weeks ago when the characters were introduced on a “Bones” episode. Stults is “The Finder,” a quirky sleuth with the ability to find whatever needs finding…people, treasure, bodies.
“The New Girl” — A comedy starring Zooey Deschanel (whose sister Emily Deschanel stars in “Bones”) as a quirky teacher with three trying male roommates: a man-child, a player and a cynic.
“I Hate My Teenage Daughter” — A comedy that pairs Jaime Pressly and Katie Finneran as two mothers who have daughters that act like the girls that picked on them when they were in high school.
