So I have GM sending me things on Facebook and they post a comment on some kids page. I click to see why GM is wishing some guy good luck on his finals and see the guy has a blog begging for money to buy him a Buick LaCrosse. There is no sob story other than "my family is economically challenged". Who isn't? I was feeling like a big mouth so I posted this. I get the feeling that GM/buick is somewhat endorsing this or at the least using it for free marketing, "look some young dbag in a polo and aviators wants a Buick. Aren't Buicks cool?" The kid's site is pretty professional looking, and uses the Buick name and logo at the top of the page. It almost looks like advertising.
General Motors: Good luck surviving your exams!
Scott Zilla: GM, I don't know why you would associate your brand with someone who is begging for money to buy a car. A brand new car at that.
General Motors: We just hope every student survives finals week Scott!
Antonio Zamora: GM - thank you. I am sure I will surrive. Scott - please do not make an assumption that I want a "new" car. If you read my blog you will understand that I am raising funds to purchase a pre-certified used Buick.
Scott Zilla: Your blog's about us section which I read, says all new Buick lacrosse. Which sounds like the current Gen. Which would be 2010 or newer.

GM isn't sponsoring him, to my knowledge. If they had anything to do with it, he'd have more than a grand total of $58 donated.
The kid is also stupid for wanting his first car to be his "dream car. The all new Buick Lacrosse." You don't get your dream car as your first car, let alone a new one.... that's a handout....
But anyways, GM did sincerely wish him good luck on his finals. I doubt they know hardly anything about what his project is.

Well GM was replying to his latest blog post. How would GM know what this kid's school schedule is? They obviously read some of the blog to know.
It bugs me that this kid is going to a good school, pre-law and wants a handout for a better car. Not even basic transportation, but a premium automobile.
I feel like he is taking advantage of people's generosity, that $58 could have gone to a lot of better places. I hope that he doesn't get anymore $.
Also saw that he was on a local newscast, and got a "a large amount of negative feedback". My faith in humanity is restored.

You are bugged easily. As you get older you will see thousands that get more than they deserve and demand more. After a while I just question the ones that I expect to be illegal or at least immoral. Like bonuses for executives that drive a company to bankruptcy.

, well, not just the skill, the aim needs to be good. I mean, you don't want to plug just any 'ole hoe hole. Besides, just the cocking (pun intended) of a 12 guage will send many running. Some towards you, some away.

The problem with hearing that 12 Gauge cocking is that it doesn't matter if he's a good shot. He's gonna get his target.

Here's the "About" page from his blog. Wow, and this was typed by a Senior in college?
quote
About
I am currently entering my last year of undergraduate studies at a university in Texas, and then plan to attend law school. I am proud to say I am a Texan! I come from a very humble, and modest family. I am the youngest of 10, and the first in my family to traditionally go to college, and possibly graduate school if I can surrive academia one more semester in the fall. My family and I are economically challenged, and we have been ever since I was born. Somehow my family and I always found a way to manage, but when it comes to purchasing my first vehicle, it has become a task that is near impossible.
I have started this blog in the attempt to collect donations to purchase my first vehicle. I have seen the power and generosity of people coming together on the internet to make dreams come true. I know that this is not impossible. I am not asking for Mercedes Benz or a B.M.W. I am asking for my dream car, a Buick Lacrosse. Wait, can you say that again? A Buick? Aint Buicks for grandparents? That is right friends, I am a young college student that wants a Buick. Of course I understand that I am not going to receive a windfall of thousands of dollars from a single donation. I believe if a person can donate $1.00 (an amount I like to consider is an average of what a person may find under the cushions of their sofa) or even less, then my dream can become a reality. There are millions of people online.
Having a vehicle would mean so much to me. It would mean being able to drive 4/5 hours from my school to my hometown to visit my parents. It would me being able to find a job near campus that i can drive to and from. It would mean more than i can even describe in words. I will be setting up a button can be clicked on to make a donation. I will also be updating this blog as much as I can. Thank you.
