Thanks Marvin, I wonder if it's the east - west thing. Since I'm on the east side of the country and I think that is how we were taught in school. I never set out to offend anyone, but it feels like a moving the goal post thing sometimes. I think the only accurate thing, is indigenous people of the Americas, but that is too long and I read in the wikipedia article that some are offended even by that. I think some people just want to be in a state of offended.

Cliff, Geronimo is a bit offensive I think.

Great Simpsons snippet:
Apu: Today, I am no longer an Indian living in America. I am an
Indian-American.
Lisa: You know, in a way, all Americans are immigrants. Except, of
course Native Americans.
Homer: Yeah, Native Americans like us.
Lisa: No, I mean American Indians.
Apu: Like me.

Well, I suppose to some. As usual. Are our secret co ops operations also to be politically correct ?
FYI, Geronimo was not even his real name.

The U.S. Army's 101st Air Assault Division has used "Geronimo!" as its battle cry since its origins as the First World War 101st Infantry Division
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_cry

Shouting "Geronimo" was common when I was young, usually before doing something really dangerous and stupid.

Like trying for 'third base' on your first girlfriend after sneaking in her bedroom window high on pcp at her police officer dad's house at 2am.!

lol It's not much of a secret now is it?
I read the wiki page to refresh my memory. Geronimo was renown, or infamous, for his ability to elude capture. I dunno if it's cool comparing OBL to Native American cheif who the US gov.t screwed over and over. It in fact would play into the Al Queda propaganda. They are usually very careful about picking these mission names for PR reasons.

There was another famous Native American mentioned in the story; Black Hawk. Is anyone offended that a helicopter bears his name?
