Several weeks ago, I bought a Mini 1018.
I really like it except that I hate Windows 7 Starter. (Not so much the "starter". Just hate the layout and all of the "nanny" features of Windows 7.)

I'd really like to "downgrade" it to XP Pro. Has anyone here done this?

I've read that the Mini 1012 came with XP, out of the box. I'm also told that the 1018 is really a stripped down 1012, so the 1012 XP drivers should work.
The 1012 driver list from the Dell website shows different hardware devices in the 1012 than I show in the Device Manager on my 1018, so I'm hesitant to try to use them.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

They "say" that the 1010 and 1012 drivers will work fine with the 1018 but I don't have any personal experience with them.

Hence, my dilemma.

"They" "say" a lot of stuff...
