Bundigi--sea snails. Good eating but bad breath. Ate them in Korea sold from a boiling pot of ugly looking stuff.
Like others, I ate baloots but these were the Vietnamese version and being a good Co Van My (American Advisor) I ate dog meat too and smacked my lips to show how much I liked it. I always thought poi smelled like vomit but I ate it in Hawaii. Kimchi smells horrible but I can eat it all day as long as I don't have to smell it. The only place I drew the line was with grasshoppers. I refused to eat them. The Vietnamese and Koreans caught them and cooked them alive. It sounded like popping corn in a frying pan. I got looks of consternation when I asked if they ate crickets. I was told that crickets are dirty.
I think being French Cajun went a long way to gastronomic tolerance.
