I have to be doing something wrong. The throwout bearing on my 2003 V6 5 speed manual Mustang is shot AGAIN. It has gone through 2 in one year. I have had trouble with cable adjustment to keep the clutch pedal from flapping when not depressed. It is a common problem with these Mustangs. Some say the bearing is in contact with the pressure plate fingers at all times. Others say no. I was told by a Ford dealer mechanic that the only way to adjust it is to have the nearing in contact at all times. That the bearing is strong enough to take the abuse. I'm thinking he is wrong. Any thoughts? You guys have helped with this car lots already. Thanks

Curly

Nope. That was my next thought. I have been buying mid grade bearings. They still seem cheap. I think o need to hunt down a motorcraft bearing.
