Well, I've seen an insane amount of movies lol. I can usually pick out what the movie is from just seeing a few seconds of it (even for movies i havent seen). I havent seen many non-mainstream movies yet tho. Started watching a lot recently, in the last couple years, due to having access to highspeed internet, and having seen nearly every mainsteam movie in the genres i enjoy lol. so, im just wondering what REALLY weird movies people have seen..

one rule, and please follow it... If you post a movie that is not in English, PLEASE post at LEAST 2 that are in English. Otherwise, the whole thread could end up just being crazy japanese films. also, PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE post a link to the IMDB page for each one. dont be lazy.

so ill start.

Dead Leaves. holy crap. thats really weird lol. Animated, foul, dirty, weird as all holy hell... My next avatar will be from that movie. prolly make it when im done here. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0439533/

Hausu. Japanese. WOW. crazy lol. I dont even know how to explain it.... lame story, but weird things happen a lot lol http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076162/

The Immaculate Conception Of Little Dizzle. have it, but have not watched it yet. It was described by one reviewer as having seemingly been thought up on acid and executed on shrooms (or something like that) lol. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1039786/

also saw a movie, i cant remember the title, where everyone was getting...well....f***** to death...including one guy who got his head (the big one) bitten off by some chicks lady parts... special prize if you can remind me what it was called lol

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086856/

Donnie Darko
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0246578/

the last two episodes of 'Neon Genesis Evangelion', the definition of mind ****

Solar Babies. Terrible script, terrible cast starring who cares? Horrible acting and just plain dumb. Sci fi? My imagination just can't get that drunk.

I thought Pi was pretty weird, but good.

The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus was also weird, but I couldn't tell if it was really good and I just missed the point, or if it was just plain weird.

Edit: also Primer, I think thats what it was called. I'd watch that one again to figure it out better.

Here's one. Very weird, and hard to follow the plot, if I remember correctly.

Somewhat mainstream, but weird:

"Arizona Dream"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106307/

"Even Cowgirls Get the Blues"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106834/

"Serial Mom"

Less mainstream, less weird, but really funny:

"Water"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090297/

Not mainstream, but definitely weird:

"Putney Swope"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064855/

"Martian Space Party"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0126413/

"The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T."

Train Spotting.

Made it to about the 12 minute mark, before I had to turn it off.

Definitely not on the "Family Movie Night" list.

I'll try it again on my next day off, when none of the family is home.

It is weird.

Attack of the killer tomatoes.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080391/

Killer clowns from outer space.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095444/

They don’t get much worse than those 2.

not asking for bad, or "campy." just asking for weird. Saw Killer Clowns when i was little, dont remember it being particularly odd. havent checked any of the videos posted yet, but, i think you should all watch Hausu and more importantly Dead Leaves. then youll have an idea of whats really "weird" lol

Heh, always read a review of anything before watching it w/ the kids.
MUCH better to do that then hafta try explaining the "bathroom" scene to yer kids...

That's sorta a drug movie... Good to show that one and Requiem of a dream to any kids thinkin' about doing drugs... (although in TS, he does seem to enjoy himself, and just be able to go have a normal life, not too realistic, imo.. but a fun movie nontheless...*sorta*)

American Beauty was just... freaky.
It's freaky all the way through, but the final plot twist is totally unexpected.

Sorry. Not going to IMDB. Working.
But it's a fairly "mainstream" movie, as movies go.

Good choice! Most of its dark humor is so rooted in the time, though, that our younger members probably won't appreciate it as much as the old timers.

Along the same lines, I would include:

Harold and Maude ("cute" weird)

A Boy and His Dog (apocalyptic weird ... I'm surprised I'm the first to list it)

Flesh Gordon (fleshy weird)

"Fun" as an adjective for Train Spotting, I can go with that. (I can see that in a a commercial for the movie with announcer: "Critics rave, Train Spotting is Fun")
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117951/

One that I'll have to watch a few more times before I understand any of it. Waking Life.
Really a great animated movie to watch while tripping, so I've heard.

I'm at work, so I can't get the IMDB link, but Zombie Strippers was pretty weird and awful too. It was under the new Netflix instant watch and I thought, "Hey, two things I like." I didn't think it could be too bad, but I was wrong...

Thats a GREAT MOVIE.. I would not recommend viewing in front of the kiddies, but do yourself a favor and definitely give it another chance.

Hard Candy... early Ellen Page playing a sadistic teenager hellbent on getting a pedophile to off himself. Parts of it, I don't like to watch just because of the psychological effect.
