Just because he's a vendor doesn't automatically mean the rules don't apply to him or that he can stretch them a little bit more than any other member. That's not how it works here. But like I said, all I see is some childish bickering and I don't think neither should be banned for that. So I'm even willing to let mera 7 back under his old username. He was speedbanned (meaning I can undo that), but he can still be banned when his bar appears at 50 ratings, or when he again gets so many negative ratings in a short time that he is speedbanned again.
By the way, totally random, I know... but I spent the weekend in Orlando with some Dutch relatives of mine who rent out a house from another Dutch guy who owns a bunch of houses in a neighborhood that's made up entirely of homes owned by Dutch people (none of whom live there full time).
The nosy neighbor across the street came out every morning that I was there to get his paper while we were getting in our car. He never waved or said hi, even though I said hi to him. By the third morning, I said "goverdomma" (it's the only Dutch word I know other than calm down, butter, beer, anis breakfast stuff, and siroopwaflen). The guy just raised his hand as he walked back to his house.
Thought it was funny.
Anyway, my relatives kept going on and on about how bad Greet Wilders was, and that he isn't a leader, even though he's only a single representative, blah blah... I dunno, we ended up discussing the negatives of socialism, and I explained to them the understanding of federalism.
I asked them what's up and why all the big Dutch companies are gone like ABN AMRO, KLM, Philips, etc... and they were just like whatever.
EDIT: I had 13 Hienikens that night... followed by two Irish Coffees... those Dutch people can drink! My throat was raw for like two days after that...
Oh yeah, they somehow found this restaurant out in the middle of a trailer park, called "Cherry Pocket" and they took us there for dinner. It was good, but they kept saying... "This is America!!!" and I was like... NO!!! This is a run down restaurant in the middle of a trailer park!!!

I would say that it was only HIS OPINION. Anyone that knows Rodney (or anyone for that matter) will not be swayed by one persons opinion of him. If 1 person does not like your buisness, you don't throw away a thousand other customers. You just don't do business with HIM.
There is probibly someone here that everyone of us don't like. We each just limit our contact with that person. We don't drag each other around by the hair post after post. And we don't bring personal stuff into it. We just say "whatever".
This whole thing feels like that whole Archie/Shawn thing. Just dumb.
The question should be; What are we trying to prove when we go back & forth about some stuff that even we don't REALLY care all that much about? I think sometimes we just get "caught up".
And for the record, I am not busting on either side. I think both should let it go. And remain here, helping, not hurting.

I just caught this Thread....I do have to say that I have seen Rodney fly off the handle before in another Mera Thead along while back...Acted in such a way that really suprised me and it was over something minor about the Mera.....I think this is some of the same 'flying off the handle" type talk I saw in the past Thread......While I agree I read Mera7 post myself and thought he was very full of it but hardly a reason to be banned....If needing proof on here was what kept you from being banned then RogerGarrison would be out the door with the Thead he is in about his 280 HP 3.1 turbo swap that he has no dyno proof on.....I am just sayin...

i have been hearing the same thing from others, too. huh? no Meras Owners yet, 'cept me. right off the bat when i bought my Mera. he was quite terse. i love the fact that MIKE IS TELLING THE TRUTH. to the best of my ability Mike seems to be what he claims to be. but i am a push over. after i saw his FaceBook page and the E-bay stuff Rodney found himself. i was satsified. but i believe in the person first. go figure. and to think, me with the 3@6's and Mike with my $120. huh? its all right wait till i get me swap from Mike. at a discount for being in his corner all along. Hey buddy. Why don't you go back and reread (or read) all the early posts I made towards Mike and the things he claimed he owned and did. You show me where I bashed him. I only started showing anger when he refused to supply any proof and started calling me names and such.

I've been ~130 in my Fiero?... unless the speedo was wrong, I had the gas pedal all the way down to the floor, and the car sat at like ~4,300 rpms with the needle pegged at the bottom well past teh 120 mark, but the car wasn't accelerating any more from what I could feel. I guess the wind and rolling resistance were just too much for the ~140hp. (probably a good thing for my sake).
Ahh... to be 19 years old and totally immature. It's amazing I'm still alive...
I feel like I owe a bit of explanation for my attitude, since I have been one of the more outspoken people here, other than Rodney.
A couple of years ago, I trusted one of the people on this forum (not a frequent poster, these days) enough to plunk down $700 for a "recently rebuilt, with low miles since the rebuild" Getrag, when he had an engine swap and switched to an automatic. (I took the word of the person doing the swap that the tranny was "good".) It had the ManTrans sticker on it, alright, but it still had issues. I asked him if he still had the paperwork from the rebuild so that I might be able to obtain a warranty repair. He kept making excuses about the paperwork being "lost wwhen he moved" and finally just ignored my PMs altogether.
Now... I have bought lots of stuff from Rodney. Always top notch. Always exactly as described. He is the perfect gentleman/businessman. His ethics are above reproach.
Mera7, OTOH, has seemed shady for quite a while. He asks exhorbitant sums of money for things (The $3500 cryo-treated Getrag is what set me off) and spins tales of 8000 sq ft machine shops, 200 MPH street cars, and line of willing LS1/Ferrari swappers while offerering no tangible proof of any_thing. Excuse me, but I consider it an insult that he thought the people of this forum were that gullible, and then got an attitude and started trolling when he was called out.
It comes down to credibility. Rodney has it. Mera7 does not. The people have spoken. Twice. We don't want him here. I hope he stays gone this time.

He was banned for being an ashole (which means it will probably happen to me one of these days). He irritated enough people that didn't like it and gave him the neg. Rodney didn't go around asking people to rate him.

Both parties did not lie through their teeth.
In my opinion lying is just as bad as stealing from me. By lying to me a person not only thinks I am stupid enough to believe their crap, but they don't have enough respect for me to tell the truth.
Once he apologized I changed my opinion of him, but that doesn't work for everyone, nor does it need to.

I just read 6 pages of this and I can't figure out why anyone cares (or how I had the attention span to hang on for 6 pages for that matter- I guess because it involved Rodney....)
Everyone had to know that mera7 was playing with less than a full deck when he was unable to distinguish between the Ecotec and V6-60 bellhousing pattern; I mean, for christ's sake he bought like 3 or 4 fuh-hucking transmissions before he figured out the difference between the F23 and the F40 and the difference between the Eco and V6 bellhousing pattern.
...what I can't figure out though, for the life of me, is why Rodney gave a damn about this guy in the first place.
If we were to go back to our hip-hop albums, Rodney is like the Dr. Dre of the Fiero world. Relative to this little punk, Rodney's a mainstay of the industry... and like Dr. Dre said, "it's not that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, it's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em"
