Hello All,

I applied for a civil engineering position that opens within the next 30-45 days. The HR person sent me a link to submit a skills assessment prior to a face to face interview in a few weeks. I think that I did very well, but the suspense is killing me. I'm posting the questions asked in hopes that those that are 100% of a correct answer will post it because I didn't get a score or what I may have gotten wrong. Plus, it may help other members looking for CAD/Eng positions that might be put on the spot. Treat it as an IQ test if you wish, and if someone posts what you feel is an incorrect answer... Feel free to discuss! The test time limit was 60min, but was told the average completion was 45min.

There are many preferred CAD systems when dealing with maps/grids/objects (Microstation V8, Vega, Catia, Inventor, Solid Edge, Sketchup, Solidworks, USG NX 6.0, etc). This is more of an aptitidue for concepts and terminology most of them use. I think I did well despite no training or experience in surveying.

PS - If any of you are sure of answers, feel free to assume the bullets are A,B,C,D,E and T/F.

I took the same test earlier today. Some of the answers I am sketchy about but the following ones I am certain that you missed.
9 -C
10 - E
14 - B
16 - B
20 - TRUE
21 - B
37 - E
70 - A
71 - E
76 - TRUE
82 - E
84 - C
101 - E
103 - B
105 - E
106 - TRUE
108 - F
109 - A
113 - G
115 - E
117 - F
125 - E

Numbers 37, 71, 101, 108, 113, 117 you got backward because it asked for all of the following "EXCEPT" all of them were good so in saying all of the above you said that none of the answers were good.

How long did it take for them to get back to you?
Did you get the job?

I was hoping for an answer like that after I posted. They never got back with me. At least I have a better understanding of why.
