Scooters are sold, truck is sold, bigscreens are sold, half the computers are sold, furniture is sold, and mother-in-law & niece has flown out. Cars & personal effects get loaded onto the barge tomorrow.
My posessions are down to 1 wife and 2 laptops. For 2 weeks. In an empty house.
I'm thinkin' bout' gettin' me some...............Alaskan-style, one last time. I just looooooove fresh Alaskan King Crab.

Good luck Boonie! This should be a really great experience! I'm really excited for you! It takes balls to make a huge change like this, but it's usually very rewarding!!!

Best wishes to ya. It'll be busy, stressful, and frustrating at times. You'll be stronger for coming through this change in your life. I have no doubt that you have the brains and the guts to make it work.
Ok so where are you moving? I saw so many threads where you talked about moving and I never did see where you said where you were going.
The reason being is I don't know where i'm going! At 50 i'm just taking a leap of faith and trying to find a new job and a new home somewhere i've never been.
Without any real available means to do so, it is the TRUE measure of hyper-intelligence!
I may really end up homeless begging coin on the street. No kidding. I have NO fall-back.
My prediction? As always, i'll figure something out, and continue to hold all these people together.
P.S. I'm shipping my effects & cars to Seattle. Put everything but one car in storage, then we are going to drive down the Washington/Oregon coast for 2 weeks looking for a place to live & work.

Mother-in-law and the niece are going to stay with mother-in-law's sister in Philly, untill I can find a job & home, then they will invade my kingdom once again.

Thank you all for you well-wishes. It really means alot.
The house is noticably empty, and more then just a little creepy. It feels naked and cold.
I think after 40 years, I have put down more roots then I realize. Not in people persay, but in the actual dirt. The life that was lived above what passed under my feet. The land, and it's heartbeat.
Mother-In-Law and neice going to Philly? We'll keep an eye on 'em for you. If you're around about the 4th of July, maybe you'll get an invite to our neighborhood bash. The invite reads Bring one or more of: Food, Alcohol, or Explosives.
Lotsa good PFF'ers in Eastern PA, New Jersey area. Let me know what we can do to help. This is a terrifying leap into the fog after all that time in the same places.
Best of luck, and we're sending our love & prayers your way.

Very strange feelings indeed.
I know this isn't the same thing, but I packed up my house in Denver and moved to Texas this year. It felt weird - I had been in Denver 10 years.
It will be tough from time to time, but everything happens the way it should, and you have a world wide community of friends who have your back. Who else can say that?
