I'm looking at buying new rims in the not so distant future. Stock size on the car is 17x7.5 with a 46mm offset. Problem is, the ones I am looking at are 18x8.5 but the largest offset (closest) compared to stock is 45mm. Now, would it be okay to run that 1mm difference in offset, or should I bump it to a higher (50mm) offset? If I get the 45mm offset ones, I can run a spacer to make up the difference, correct?

It's hard to say where any clearance issues may lie.

As far as the offset goes, you have it backwards. If you get 50 mm offset wheel, then you can add spacers to make them 45 mm equivalent.

You should really ask on an online forum for that car.

Thanks. These are what I'm looking to replace.

Looking to put these on

The ones on the car stand out too much for my tastes. Never really liked chrome rims...Just not sure if I can get away with these new ones in the offsets they offer
