Hahaha! I was only going to reply to one person's post because I'm "supposed" to be at work right now.

But, someone was wrong, ON THE INTERNET!

John? Interesting video, but do we know if this person (or persons) could be out there trying to get "in the limelight"? Hard to say without an investigation.

Back to Fox News. Yes, they are offering entertainment.... in fact everything we watch/read is entertainment. Otherwise, the only thing we would be looking at are numbers on a stark white background.

For me, I am getting tired of arguing which news is the most fair/balanced or if Obama is really lying or whatever. It comes down to what impact the information has on me. I look at the Health Care bill and see things I do not like. I have to go to more "conservative" outlets to gather the information (as I don't have time to read 1500(?) pages). If I go to a "liberal" outlet all I hear is how great this is going to be, but I don't hear how we are going to pay for it, and what will happen to my current coverage, ect. For that I need analysis, and I look towards our media to provide that. My conservative nature tells me to not believe what our government is telling us. I need to be skeptical and I need a news outlet that is also skeptical and will investigate. For some people, Fox News is that outlet. Others go to MSNBC because they are the ones who are in support of Health Care, they want others to pay for their coverage. They will then be "entertained" with emotions.

Nope. I have openly asked them of a venue that they would prefer where I could debate my beliefs/our differences. One in which they would not be out numbered. Even one in which I may be.
I guess one does not exist, . Just like liberal talk radio.

I came back from Africa years ,,and watched the news from all major networks only 3 at the time..There coverage had little relation ship to the truth.. I had beleave them before this knowing the truth isnotsoeasy when2 sides are involved

NBC ,,CBS,, ABC,the New York times, are BIG liars compared to Fox.. this so ,so obvious I am surprised any one would question this..Obama is a rodent and many here know it who praise him,,they know unless they are communist..
all these networks covered up theObiteme teams socialism and Obamas short commings .. I am still surprised the slime commie filth snake weasel who attented a hate America church for 20 years associated with terrorist bill Ayres,, and his mom and dad were communist..The only way he is president is because of a massive lie and cover up..Talk about special interest lifting some back bencher to prominence,, this is a classic case of Moneyed special interest
Bowing to other leaders ..Im surprised Putin did not lube it up and give the scumbag what he wants from the Stalin/Mao crowd he loves..and kowtows to Obama is a traitor to the founding fathers..I do not like it that The Obite me team borrowed monica ,s kneepads,,have you notice the wrinkles around Obama,s mouth?? How far we have fallen ..keep a sharp hatchet,, keep 80 rounds of ball,,never lie to another ranger or officer..

I blame the ongoing conservative "war on Brains."
The fight rages on:

quote

After a rash of mistakes and apologies over the past weeks, Fox News has sent a memo to employees announcing a new "zero tolerance" policy for on-screen errors.

FishBowlDC obtained the memo, sent last Friday, which warns mistakes could lead to written warnings, suspensions and termination.

"Please know that jobs are on the line here. I can not stress that enough," the memo reads.

Fox has had three much-noticed errors in the past few weeks. First, Sean Hannity used misleading footage to beef up attendance numbers at a Capitol Hill tea party rally -- an incident that caught the attention of the Daily Show's Jon Stewart, forcing Hannity to apologize on air.

Then, last week, one of the midday news shows aired footage of an old Sarah Palin campaign rally to show the "crowds" at her current book tour. An anchor apologized a day later, and Fox blamed a "production error."

Finally, in another segment about Palin's book, the network showed the cover of a satire book called "Going Rouge" instead of her actual memoir, "Going Rogue."

The network is also going to "zero base" its news production, according to the memo.
"That means we will start by going to air with only the most essential, basic, and manageable elements. To share a key quote from today's meeting: "It is more important to get it right, than it is to get it on." We may then build up again slowly as deadlines and workloads allow so that we can be sure we can quality check everything before it makes air, and we never having to explain, retract, qualify or apologize again."

I'll believe it when I see it.

Sure, once they're caught, they try to apologize for their standard operating procedure.
But its all smoke and mirrors.
Ailes is the problem.
He's not gonna leave until the "news" channel starts losing money.

Do you rant when other news outlets make mistakes (or even outright lie), or do you save your self righteous indignation solely for Fox?

He would rather make posts like THIS where he adds a quote saying it's "From the Wall Street Journal" and doesn't mention it's from before the elections and an opinion piece from two Obama staffers.

Until he cleans up his act, Neptune has no higher moral ground to stand on.

Sure John. Are you too becoming a soldier in the domestic war?
I really thought better of you.
You are good at math.
Tell me how this works, please:

70+63+60=193% on my Earth.
But apparently not on the FOX "news" Channel.

I'll bet people like Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes made a pretty penny selling violin strings to Nero, (While pulling the strings a la the Wizard of Oz.)
They would have sold overalls to O'brien, if he were real.

The topic of THIS thread, sir, is FOX " news" and their blatant right wing bias.
Although you do have a point.

January 26, 1998 claimed "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky"

Aww crap--they have the dress-with my dna from my semen stains??

Aug 19, 1998
"This afternoon in this room, from this chair, I testified before the Office of Independent Counsel and the grand jury.

I answered their questions truthfully, including questions about my private life, questions no American citizen would ever want to answer.

Still, I must take complete responsibility for all my actions, both public and private. And that is why I am speaking to you tonight.

As you know, in a deposition in January, I was asked questions about my relationship with Monica Lewinsky. While my answers were legally accurate, I did not volunteer information.

Indeed, I did have a relationship with Miss Lewinsky that was not appropriate. In fact, it was wrong. It constituted a critical lapse in judgment and a personal failure on my part for which I am solely and completely responsible."

"There's a vast right wing conspiracy........"

"But we did use the documents. We made a mistake in judgment, and for that I am sorry. It was an error that was made, however, in good faith and in the spirit of trying to carry on a CBS News tradition of investigative reporting without fear or favoritism.

Please know that nothing is more important to us than people's trust in our ability and our commitment to report fairly and truthfully."

OK, since you guys have run almost all of the people who disagree with a warped view of the world away from Pennocks Right Wing Forum, I'll speak for all the people who understand nuance, see grey instead of only black and white, progressive types, Democrats, and people who paid attention in school:
If Rupert Murdouch, either on his own, or through Roger Ailes would come clean and say something like:

"OK, we're right wing conservatives. We love the Republican party and hate Democrats and progressives.
So what.
We spin the news to make the right look better than they are.
Everything we do is to make the right look better and the left look worse.
So what.
We are what we are.

I OWN THIS CHANNEL and I'll keep spinning right until the day I die.
It has made me a billionaire.
If you don't like it, lump it.
FOX will continue to be a propaganda machine for the right until TV goes away."

I would respect that.
I wouldn't necessarily like it, but I would respect his honesty and candor.
Hiding behind a made up, trademarked phrase ("Fair and Balanced") makes them look sleazy and dishonest.
So, if FOX 'news' would only attempt to be honest, everybody would gain some respect for them, or they can continue to blatantly lie, and they'll continue to weather the scorn from the people who haven't died in the 'war'.

I, for one, am feeling an all too predictable scorn attack coming on.
Like it bothers me one whit.
NEPTUNE shrugged.

Of course not. I've asked him serious questions, and he won't answer them. Then, he ironically brings out Nero and violin strings - and HE'S the guy who is picking out typographical errors, stock footage errors, and rah-rahing his beloved liberals politicians while they spend this country into oblivion. But he doesn't care. Talk about picking gnat s*** out of pepper. Whatta hack.

Like it bothers me one whit.

need a tissue?

You do understand that the very same thing can be said of the Left leaning mainstream media?
Of course you do.

But he doesn't care. Talk about picking gnat s*** out of pepper. Whatta hack.

I've pretty much given up asking him serious questions, because he either focuses on a trivial tangent, or ignores the question completely.

So in your mind, expecting others to present and defend a position is equivalent to running them away?

Your attempt to blame some sort of right wing mob is pretty lame, considering you and the other leftists here were quite vocal when the GOP controlled Congress and the White House. Strange that so many leftists won't contribute anymore, now that "your" party is in power. Strange that when they do contribute, it's not to extol the virtues of the liberal point of view, but rather still to complain about the right.

The phrase "put up or shut up" comes to mind, and it seems many of the leftists here have chosen the latter. Except for you, but you don't bring much to the table other than mindless partisan babbling.

Aside from the fact that this isn't about politicians lying, its about a certain self proclaimed "fair and balanced" news propaganda outlet blatantly lying day after day, I gotta ask ya:
When you were a kid, and you asked your mother or father for something, and they said no, did you reply:
"BUT MA, ALL THE OTHER KIDS ARE DOING IT!!!"

You just did that here.

So again, do you rant and rave when other news outlets make mistakes or are caught lying? Or are you simply slinging mud because you don't care for Fox?

In other words, is this about journalistic integrity or is it just more partisan whining?

Are you kidding? Neptune has a complete set of Dan Rather Fake Memo trading cards.
Have you ever seen Neptune post in a political thread where he did anything other than sling mud at anything he sees as conservative?

You don't have to ask him again. His post history tells the story for you.

No, I did not. I've never, even as a child coveted what others had or did. It's a trait indicative of laziness and weakness.

You just did that here.

And, how many times have you and others called for this nation to do things to meet your 'progressive' agenda based in great part on what other nations have already done?
you just did that.

When news organizations intentionally ignore the downside of issues because it casts a bad light on 'their guy', it is no different than lying IMO. Failing to "volunteer information" is just another form of lying--it's deceptive and misleading--just as politicians are.
All news media today are biased in one way or another--toward one side or the other, so if you think Fox should have a disclaimer on their newscasts, I assume you are equally in favor of all the left leaning news media being required to do the same--and yet, I haven't seen you call for that to happen.

His parents were probably the "do as I say not as I do" type.
