Mexico is outraged over influx of its own citizens
September 9, 2009
The shoe is on the other foot, and the Mexicans from Sonora don't like it one bit. Can you believe the nerve of these people? It's almost funny. Advertisement
The state of Sonora is angry at the influx of Mexicans into Mexico. Nine state legislators from the state of Sonora traveled to Tucson to complain about Arizona's new employer crackdown on illegal immigrants from Mexico.Â
It seems that many illegal immigrants from Mexico are returning to their hometowns, and the officials in the Sonora state government are ticked off about it. A delegation of nine state legislators from Sonora was in Tucson recently to say Arizona's new employer sanctions law will have a devastating effect on the Mexican state. At a news conference the legislators said Sonora, Arizona's southern neighbor comprised mostly of small towns, cannot handle the demand for housing, jobs and schools it will face as Mexican workers here return to their country without jobs or money.
The Arizona law, which took effect Jan. 1, punishes employers who knowingly hire individuals who don't have valid legal documents to work in the United States. Penalties include suspension or loss of business licenses. Because more companies are complying, illegal immigrants are finding it more difficult to find work, so they are going home.
The Mexican legislators are angry because the influx of their own citizens is placing a burden on the state government.
"How can they pass a law like this?" asked Mexican representative Leticia Amparano-Gomez, who represents Nogales.
"There is not one person living in Sonora who doesn't have a friend or relative working in Arizona," she said, speaking in Spanish. "Mexico is not prepared for this, for the tremendous problems it will face as more and more people working in Arizona and sending money to their families, return to their hometowns without jobs."
"We are one family, socially and economically," she said of the people of Sonora and Arizona.
Wrong!
The United States is a sovereign nation, not a subsidiary of Mexico, and American taxpayers are not responsible for the welfare of Mexico's citizens. It's time for Mexico - and its citizens - to stop parasitically feeding off the United States and start taking care of its citizens' own needs.
I believe it's high time for all American states to pass a law like the one in Arizona. Perhaps that would solve many immigration problems that the U.S. Congress refuses to address.

They'll just have to wait for a natural disaster so the local government can hire illegals to clean it up, just like Oklahoma does. Hmm, when is the last time Arizona had a major ice storm?

Well, isn't that nice? I suppose we aren't using enough Mexican crystal meth to keep their drug cartel money coming in, either. Maybe I should hire a Mexican to shoot crank.

So now we have the wave of people returning to Mexico due to the poor US economy, which will be followed by a HUGE wave back out (into the US) when their system completely overloads and they are essentially refugees. It feels good to see Mexico having to deal with their own people but they can't and it's going to fall back on us.
Mexico is totally unable to handle this and it's going to get very ugly. In good times they lack the economy and resources to support their citizens, and in bad times,.... watch out.
We can chuckle now but just wait for the other shoe to drop. Get your blood pressure medication ready.

They will be back with a vengeance when a immigrant bill gets closer to being enacted. Obama will take multitudes of Mexican citizens and Knight them as Americans.

And at that point, they will be eligible for benefits under Obamacare. He lied.
I don't really have a problem with the hard working farm workers that come here. They do the work that it seems Americans are unwilling to do. I do have a problem with the people who come here and are members of violent gangs such as MS13 and others. I have employed illegals for hard work and they are very hard workers and good people for the most part. I have problems when they want to take advantage of benifits from our social security system that they have never paid into or free medical care,we don't get that. They are not Americans, they are Mexicans and they should be privilaged to work here with temporary green cards, nothing more.

Once E-Verify was passed by the voters and put in place there was an revelation. When you went to fast food joints, guess who took their place? Teenagers and older folks. Old folk could now find work to help with retirement. Teenagers no longer had an excuse that they can't find a job. And with them working it sure helps ease the burden of many families in these tough times. The old myth that they only did jobs no one else wanted was debunked. Well maybe the lazy teens didn't want them. Why do we still have millions of Americans out of work, and million of illegals working. E-Verify for the whole nation would cure this.

amazing, isnt it? thank god for g'ment interference on corporations, eh?
another example of why corporations cant be left to do whatever they like
I think you have a real difficult time understanding the difference between socialism and regulation... either that or you just hate everything related to government and corporations?

um, actually, I dont think the 2 can go together very well - being with socialism, the g'ment would be the one owning the corporation. no, my problem is with those who think that corporations should be able to do as they like. and, even more so, with those who think that the "owners" are more important than "the talent".

The law has been there a long time. It's illegal to hire illegal aliens. I've had to photocopy driver's licenses and get SS numbers for employees from the time I first started having an employee. The problem has been that when there were plenty of jobs, nobody cared. Now that jobs are a lot more scarce, people are caring a lot as they should have been the whole time. The law is nothing new. Enforcement of the law is.

Not unless they changed the policy that any cuban national that sets foot on US land is automatically extended political refugee status. They allow something like 20,000 a year to become citizens, the rest wait their turn, but unless you're a small child (elian gonzales) you generally don't get sent back.

yeah...well....
just wanna make sure people dont get sucked in by the propoganda - from either end and, being we are heavily one-sided, being most "Obama" folk are not political, someone needs to do it....
and, yes - being skilled & employable - yes - it is easy to say "I'm fine! Dont change a thing!", but being an idealist thats tough to do. and, knowing "people suck" makes it tough to be an idealist, knowing how many folk would just sit down, if not endlessly pushed.
just trying to put a wider lense on the picture. to many people have so narrowed down to the "us vs them", and are past trying to make things better, and just want make sure "them" get put back, even if "us" needs to get put back some to do so.

How many other situations are there, where enforcement of the existing laws would take care of the situation? (Rhetorical question, of course.) Instead, the lawmakers decide to pass even more absurd laws that won't be enforced either, but will justify the expenditure of even more money, and will further restrict the liberties of generally law-abiding people. Rights are earned by the individual not by the ancestors. You can't ride someone elses coat tails Ray. It doesn't work like that.

Yea and they all dreamed of a massive socialist government that saddles its future generations with a debt that that will be impossible to pay. That is what I was referring to, not if they were liberal in your mind, so I said it again encase you misunderstood.

He would still be wrong. They are political. They just don't have the balls to talk about it and besides, it's supposed to taste like a $hit sandwich. Which is all they can serve.

I believe the "Jobs Americans will not do" is a myth. A belief that has been proven to me again and again around here. Did you file taxes on these illegal immigrants you hired? Or did you manage to save a buck for yourself while giving Americans everywhere the middle finger?
