I thought I would share this with you guys because it just amazing how well built these cars are. This is a 2006 Kia Rio5 sold new in late May 2006. It has 277,000 on its original drive train. The cars still looks, feels, smells, and drives like a brand new car. These cars are the best deal out there for cheap new cars. I currently own 3 2006 Kia Rio5 and they all have well over 150,000 miles.
This is most likely the highest mileage 2006 Rio5 on the planet.

5 Timing belts, 6 Sets of tires, a million Oil Changes, All Service done on time, 2 sets of Motor Mounts, Front Wheel Bearings. But it still has the original motor and transmission.

motor mounts? Those ought to last nearly forever in an interstate car...
You would think, but one mount seems to fail every 120k. You get a little vibration at idle. Might be a bad design or something. But hey for a car that cost $12k brand new you can't complain.

Thanks! I think its nice tidy design. I have a few of them running around. They are nice because I can fit two of them in my driveway end to end.
As for mileage, they get between 27-33 MPG always. It all depends on how much highway driving you do.
Well that sucks about the mileage. I am getting 24mpg average with my Monte Carlo, but I really don't like that car at all. If it was in the high 30s I would be looking for a 5spd version. Might still, but really want another Prizm.

You probably can get high 30's from a 5-speed. They are still a great car if you are looking for a smaller car. Plus they drive really great, much better then the Scion XA I had before. And they have 100,000 mile warranties.
If you are really interested I will sell you the black one. Its has 152,000 miles on it.
Work done in the past 3000 miles
New Timing Belt and Water Pump New Drive Belts New Front Brakes and Rotors New Windshield New Tires all the way around New Wiper Blades Fresh Oil Change New Air Filer New Cabin Filter 4 Wheel Alignment New Brake Light Switch
Its like a brand new car. I need $4,200.00 for it. I will have it detailed and full tank of gas.
Just if your interested.

stock cummins and stock 5-spd, it even has a tuned up pump (just a fuel plate probably, ~350hp)
its needed nothing but front end parts (like 5 track bars over its lifetime lol)
Yep the front ends get loose on those. But you pretty much have the best truck ever built. So its not any surprise you got that many miles. Those motors and transmissions are so strong that the trucks literally fall apart around them.

Most recently I was working for a Kia dealership (sales) and I was really impressed with the cars. The new Forte is an awesome little car. And I have sold GM and Toyota as well, as a basis for comparison...Kia is the best "bang for the buck" out there.

Forte are sweet!! And I like the Soul. I might buy a few souls next. I was thinking about buying a load Forte for my parents.
the Forte coupe that is comming out is a pretty cool looking car. i also for some reason relly like the kia soul. Kia is steppin up i cant wait to see what they make the compete with the genisis.
P.S is that a DOT number on the car? i thought they only came on trucks and heavy weight vehicals.

Its a CA Number. They are required in California for all commercial vehicles. And since these are company cars and used only for work they need the CA id on them.

Ohhhh never heard of that around my way its only on vehicals 16 tons and over that require one of them. but hell just hearing about this is making me look at one of thoes KIA fourte coupes.

I appreciate it, but I am specifically looking for a 5spd economy car. I hate this Monte Carlo. I am probably going to buy a Prizm I found for about $500. Then unload this Monte Carlo and maybe buy a bike. I got a good deal at $3500, but the car just sucks.

kias dont do well in the rust belt. I have a body shop buddy that has found rust starting to form high up (on the inside) on cars that are even only one year old.
They seem like great cars though if you live in a southern state.
