FireFTP which allows me to upload files and stuff to my webpage, or download stuff from there... lol..
IE Tabs, allows me to run web sites in an Internet Explorer mode which will allow some to actually work when they've stopped working in Firefox cause they've changed the site or say IE only... which really makes me angry... like our stupid health care site... which I have no other choice but to use IE for... bleh...
I've generally stopped bothering with the plug ins and skins because every time they update something in FF one or more of the plug/skins breaks and I'm tired of having FF tell me there isn't an update for it yet. Sometimes it never finds an update because of inconsistent naming so you have to manually find them if/when they get fixed.
It's been annoying enough with sub versions but now they are moving toward V3 at a rapid pace which no doubt will break just about every add on again.
As a browser it's been far better and I like the spell checking so I'm not using IE.
Sadly V3 appears to moving toward becoming the bloatware that Mozilla and IE are constantly accused of with all kinds of things added whether you need them or not. As it is V2 and lower have some things enabled by default that have little or no value and worse some have become security problems.

Pretty much why I dont bother with plug ins.
I use flashgot, just because I download really big files with http every now and then, but even maintaining the stability of that one plugin is more work than its worth.

I haven't encountered that issue with any of my Plugins yet, some of the plugs are supposedly already preparing for V3.
I still greatly prefer Firefox over IE, though I would probably use Opera still if it was more compatible, though it has improved quite a bit over what it used to be.

I have ABP too. The only thing about ABP that bugs me is you have to "teach" it what to block. And pages like Yahoo Mail rotate through hundreds of banners, My list has over 50 ads to block on Yahoo but most of the time when I load yahoo mail there's still a banner...

Did you add a filter subscription? It should auto-update with ad information.

In the main AdBlock preferences window, you should see "Filter Subscription: EasyList (USA)" or similar. If not just click the "Filters" menu and select "Add Filter Subscription"
I haven't had to manually add any restrictions with that subscription in place.

Sweet! Aparently I didn't have a filter subscription, but I do now! Thanks, + for you (if you don't already have one from me)

Hmm, after reading the thread here in O/T about mods to XP, I downloaded Aero Fox and Aqua Tint to go with the TransBar and Zune skin. United States Dictionary for obvious reasons, Mouse Zoom and Tab Effect 'cause I got this here big ole monitor and I likes a little eye candy. I have the demo version of WindowFX and I'm this close to buying the full on version cause it makes XP look new again. None of these seem to have slowed my computer, unlike some of the other Vista-like modifications. Some of the Vista eye candy I felt was too busy and distracting.... and I don't wanna build/buy a whole new computer and operating system.

I just wanted to bump this post, I'm using FF3 beta. A lot of extensions don't work with it yet, bummer. I noticed my saved info shows up black-on-background instead of white-on-background. Rather than list what doesn't work, I'll list what does work for now. Flashgot, NoScript, SaveSession, SpeedDail (like Opera, I like), talkback (reports crashes), Tryagain, MyFirefox & Vista-aero modifyer (which didn't work with FF 2). I'll switch back and forth since some of my favorite add-ons aren't used. The English Dictionary seems to be working, although the Tools>Add Ons> seem to indicate it's not compatible. Perhaps it's built-in? There is a Plug-in icon in the tools drop down that lists what I guess is standard. I had downloaded Microsoft Silverlight on my machine, it was interesting to see it in the FF add-ons.

Try Opera, it has many of the FF plug-ins already built-in. I especially like their paste and go option which FF doesn't have. I still use FF but find I surf more in Opera.

Even though the initial bloat of v3 may be larger than v2, running both for a good length of time will show v3 to be much improved in performance over v2. A large number of memory leaks and such have been fixed, and javascript performance has been improved. I've been testing my website and games using both browsers, and so far I like what I see from v3.

I think there are some differences, but I didn't want to pay for either. I'm using Nuonsoft ShellEnhancer. Not as tricked out, doesn't bog down my PC too much either. Of course, this has nothing to do with Firefox... check this thread instead.

A review of FF3 Beta. Looks like the Memory Leak problem is being addressed, so I suppose FireTune will be unneccesary? The Verisign add-on which looks like will become standard in FF3 was working fine in FF2, it's the same as ME7. I have/had (that PC is down right now) a bunch of Opera-like add-ons in my FF2. I had Firefox running on this 64 bit XP machine for a little while, now it doesn't seem to work. IE7 is not connecting to the Internet from this machine all of a sudden, but Opera is doing fine.

You pick what topics you want it to "stumble on" and every time you hit the button it comes up with a new page.
BEWARE productivity will decrease significantly
Other than that I use: Tap Scape Download status bar foxy tunes IE tabs and some video download thing so i can download videos from youtube and sites like that.

Remember you can go into bookmarks, right click on a bookmark>properties> and put a letter in for keyword. Then whenever you want to open that page you just type that letter in the address bar and click enter.

Anyone have trouble getting YouTube to load videos in FF? It seems I have to refresh a million times to get it to load, or the little Spinning loading animation appears indefinitely on the video.
Thought I'd bump this acient thread instead of doing a new one: Tab Effects is working again on FF3, but it is slow. Wish I could adjust the speed, but I don't write code so I'll have to suck it up.
Have you guys seen Piclens from the Cooliris folks? It has that iPod-like interface when you are searching for images... very, very cool. I'll toss in another pitch for the Searchme.com search engine again, although some hated it, I have a large set of monitors and find it easy to skim through web sites. Serch for videos and you get a convenient way to surf for content, although it all seems to be Youtube content.
The other extension I am digging is BugMeNot. Let's you read all those news articles without subscribing (the free registration type) to the Times or whatever.

I don't see Tab Effects available for FF3.
I just found Piclens and was coming here to suggest it. You beat me to it though. It's very cool/fun.

Anyone know where to find this?

Tab Effects is a no-go in this latest version. You may dig Glasser, AeroFX and Strata for an Aero effect. It's eye candy like tab effects, but not the revolving window.

Yeah, it can be a PITA. Also, according to my experience, the stability of FireFox is indirectly proportional to the number of plug-ins installed. The more plug-ins installed, the more often FireFox takes a dump.
I've decided to give up on plug-ins. I don't really need them, anyway.
