Someone, many years ago, decided to turn an otherwise nearly worthless piece of meat, the pork belly, into the delicious food we call bacon. Thats genius. Then in the 1950s, Madison Avenue advertising agencies convinced us that bacon was a necessary part of an American breakfast. Thats brilliance.

What is the deal with the obsession with bacon on this forum? Is there a private joke or has everybody just went overboard about bacon and now it's just pure silliness? BTW I do love bacon but I was not here on the beginning of the bacon fad and I just don't get it. There is even a member with a "Calvin and Hobbs" with bacon avatar. Wierd.

I would love to answer that in a rational way but my obsession to bacon includes marinating it in Yashida sauce and slow roasting it to a crispy perfection on a BBQ grill.

just be glad they are not making you squeeze penguins.
Actually, Bacon has been around for years... , it's less of a "fad". It's kinda like "foo" and predates things like "all your base" and whatnot.
I can't eat it very often, so I think about it all the time...almost as often as I think about boobiez. (I don't eat those often either, the the pair I know intimately are currently "functional", and well, that's just kinda... hmmmm.....(TMI?)
just be glad they are not making you squeeze penguins.
...and to explain THAT one... we were at Seaworld about a year ago... we hit a lull in the excitement. The next stop was to see the penguins, it sounded as exciting as watching some pieces of wood, so I pretended that I was DEATHLY afraid of them. Not sure if my nephew actually thinks I am, but it made for a fun 15 minutes of me running around like a moron. (it kept ME entertained, at least! )
As for the the "squeezing" part? Well, I'm not goin' THERE!
