That don't take much. A bottle in front of me and a frontal lobotomy.

Well, I'll tell ya'. As you know, I have never been a fan of MMOLRPGDPFH's. (<<<<<is that right?) But I went into this one with a open mind. The gaming world in WoW is HUGE! Lots to do, lot's of different path's, play (and pay) at your own pace, etc. I will admit it is a very addictive game. It has a little something for everyone. If you just want to make stuff, and sell it to others, you can. If you just want to explore, you can. There is no game "pressure" to achieve a pre-programed end. And at this time in my life, that fits me preatty good.
But I'm having a real hard time progressing in the game. It's a slow-go. For ONE reason..................I'm playing solo. I have been invited to join groups, guilds, clans, etc., but I keep turning them down. I'm not a joiner. I like to go my own way, at my own pace, in my own time. But there are some situations, where it is impossiable to progress againest enemies, alone. This game encourages and rewards teamwork. I have never participated in teamwork. So I'm struggling.
But I think i'm about ready to give "working together" a try. I just need to find the right people. Easy-going people, fun, people I can trust, not obsessive & driven to "win". I just want to play. I'm not concerned with "winning", or being the "best", or "admired" as The Kings Of Warcraft. I just wanna be in it for the play, not the win.
So, I'm still just finding my place, in the game. At this point, intrest is just barely keeping frustration at bay.....................
Sounds ALOT like my life!

this is pretty much exactly why i don't play online games. i don't like the investment requirement, either in time or money. i prefer to approach a game at my own pace (i've spent a lot of time on sidequests in Oblivion, for instance). and i am completely turned off by the bulk of gamer culture.
-shrug- who knows. if i can get around to uograding this machine, maybe i'll sign in and look you up.
love the cow, though clipping error?

I accepted a quest from the Dwarvan District in Stormwind City to deliver a weapon to a guy in Loch Modan. But there is NO WAY I can get across some of the lands I have to pass through, being a level 13 Warrior! Huge, unkillable Rockgiants, level 60 monsters, etc. How do I get there?
i have no WoW account, so i have no idea if there are boats. i just saw that the two points were basically on opposite sides of island, and wondered about it.
in morrowind, one of the ways you had to get around for some quests was by boat, unless you wanted to die on the way.
run very fast? does this game have a standalone single-player mode? i dont go for net games, but i notice most of them have good single-player campaigns (for training?)

Nope you can only play on line and you have to pay each month to play.

If you haven't tried Civ IV, you should. You can quit anytime, then come back and take up right where you left off. It rewards thinking and planning ahead. Generations ahead. A typical game that I like to play takes about 20 hours. If you put it on the longest, micro management settings, I'd guess 40 hours.
I've played at all levels but I actually like the lower levels better because the higher levels are more "warlike" and I like to build things.
