All of these examples are of people rising up against oppression and fighting for their own freedom. The war in Iraq is anything but, it is an invasion by another country.
Soooo my grandfather from Brooklyn, who invaded France in 1944, was actually a French Revolutionary?
My grandfather invaded France in the interest of American security and the liberation of the French from a Dictator.
How is that different from my wife's cousin invading Iraq in the interest of Amercian security and the liberation of the Iraqi's from a Dictator?
The only difference I can see is that a Democrat got us into Europe and a Republican got us into Iraq.

yeah i feel more for the poor bastards who had half of their head blown off and were sent home to try and live a normal life with their loved ones. i cant imagine how hard that must be
You are naive in this statement. I have opened the coffin of a dead family member to see him in pieces. I have escorted bloodied Soldiers hit by IEDs to the hospital. I have assisted physically and mentally disabled Soldiers to hospital appointments. I deal with emotional and psychological issues, myself, everyday since being deployed to Iraq. My wife hates dealing with my anger management issues, but she'd rather deal with that over my death. I'd rather visit my brother-in-law with a physical or psychological disability than visit his grave site as I do now.

you misunderstand me. i said i feel worse for the guys who get seriously maimed and have to live with it, than i do for those who met a quick end. sorry if i was unclear, i know for the families its worse for them completely losing someone.

Germany started the war, we assisted in stopping his ethnic war against humanity. No a Democrat didn't get us into the war Japan did, or don't you remember December 7, 1941? PEARL HARBOR I believe we were attacked first.
Edit: You forgot Vietman, A republican got us involved there also. Eisenhower 1956. First casualities 1959.

isn't it funny how we do so much better in wars if (a) we let the other guy start it (then we finish it), and (b) we have a formal declaration of war as specified by the constitution, instead of a "police action" started by executive fiat?
