Not the best, not the worst, but I can't complain... I told them to turn OFF my cable modem when I moved. Got to the new place, plugged it in, and been online ever since

Optimum Online and had to pay extra for their Boost, so they stop capping my modem.
up to 30Mbps down and 2Mbps up.
Hmmm does that look like 30Mbps to you? Its 2am, so maybe its a real busy time in NY/NJ lol
I am connected wirelessly, wonder if that matters.
my speeds are the optimum online boost speeds. And yes, being connected wirelessly will affect the speeds dramatically. The new wireless N routers can handle higher network speeds, as opossed to the older network routers.
Wait, that's not good... Well still faster than my Charter Cable Internet used to be.
Nope. Sorry. I have the SLOWEST in the known universe. The benefit of living far out in the sticks where few even have computers probably! After I get the truck paid off, I will probably get a DirecWay satellite. Could somebody here please post a new DirecWay or WildBlue satellite speedtest? Please.
This is the best I ever get out of a 56K modem. No choice on phone internet provider. Only one, and they barely even offer dial-up.

Comcast... I think they are advertising it as 6M/sec download... it sure is a fatter pipe than when it was @Home at 1M/sec but the ping times have steadily gotten worse.. I'm not sure if that is the net as a whole or just that we aren't direct to a backbone anymore. I suspect just to many internal routers slowing things down. Why should I care? Used to game at sub 10msec pings and now I'm lucky to find servers that really connect in under 80-100ms.

Comcast users note: If you haven't done it fairly recent... Make sure that you unplug your cable modem power for 30 seconds or so then repower it. You need to do that to make use of the Powerboost feature. I'm not sure if it's in all Comcast served areas. I have it. It works. If the connection is slow, it is likely on the server end.

I don't understand how your upload speed could possibly be that fast with a 56K modem. I mean geez, look at your download speed. This seems very odd to me!
