put a engine in it because the kid before me overheated the car and froze the engine it sat so long new front wheel bearings rustproofed the udnerside completely patched a few week spots with fiberglass i did a lot of stuff tot to make it all work beacuse of the mess the orginal 2.3 and the one i bought see the one that's in it now comes from a 1978 ford of some kind.
As unfortuanlly as it is i have to drive it this winter but i got brand new copper weahter master snow tires on tonite and new fronts on stock rims i painted black.

i had a hand me down from my brother, an 84 lx 4 spd with the trx rims and it had the trx sport suspension too...previous owner had work done to the motor and that little SOB would hang right with the 5.o at that time...dunno what was done all but it moved for a 4 cylinder...plus it had a this big corvette whale tail installed on the trunk...hahaha tacky as hell but the chicks dug it...was damn near the same color as yours too....kinda ironic...tim..

yah the turbo 2.3's got some power and dam if it don't make ya think a little its like our cars with v8's so light and small. i would love to turbo this baby got factory manuals to install one but a bit pricey right now maybe someday then id stomp most ricers. if you shift this manually you can make it fly usually but i try not to so that i don't f up my tranny.
id like to see your bud's car rich got any pics?

Dude I got my 5.0 from actually sold it to me because he had built a 2.3 turbo.. said they can handle tons of boost stock..? No idea myself, I'll take the 5.0 for my 67, but.... sounded fun in a little light car.

Might consider building a natuarally aspirated 2.3 liter. We did one 20 years ago in a 79 Stang. The trick is to find a machine shop that builds 2.3s for the dirt track race folks. Our 2.3 had:
.030 over 10.0:1 TRW pistons A Crane cam Big Chevy valves in the head ported and polished intake a 2 Holley barrell carb from a 302 V8 (500 cfm I think) An aftermarket header and low restriction exhaust
It turned about 180 hp on the engine dyno (about the same horsepower as the first year SVO turbo cars) and handed quite a few V8 cars their hats even with the stock C3 auto trans. The little sucker would even do an impressive burnout. Total cost in the engine at the time was about $1800.00. Best 1/4 mile time was 15.3 seconds (compared to 18 seconds stock).
My next project: A Cobra II Mustang with a newer 5.0 liter
