Well I got an 07 Sonata SE on Monday. never thought I would get one and actually like it. Its a great car!! Plenty of ooomf, tons of room, drives like a dream, and I got it for 17k with 22 miles on it!! perks of the job I guess!! But this car stickered for 23995. Anyone else have one? Mines Khaki, 17" mags and a roof. Now I just need to lower it and tint it.

I've had Sonata's as rental cars several times and have always been impressed with them. The fit and finish seemed excellent, and with a V6 its a really fun car to drive. The suspension seemed pretty taut and it handled/drove very nice. I commend Hyundai for improving their product line in a relatively short timeframe.

I helped a friend in buying a car a couple of years ago and we found a new 04 Sonata which was a two door red with gold trim. It was the four cylinder model. It was the best looking Sonata I've seen. Since he does lots of driving, it gets great milage and the car still gets looks. Toyota will soon surpass GM as #1 in sales. There cars just don't die.

I may have missed something, but does Toyota have something to do with the Sonata?
For some strange reason my grandfather has always bought either FORD (back in the 60's) or Hyundai - He had one of the 1st EXCEL's ( i think thats what it was )...the engine finally went after almost 20 years and 500 000K...now he has the 2001 ( i think ) Sonata - really nice, really comfortable. Hyundia is really starting to grow very fast - although i'm not a huge fan of Korean cars (KIA, in specific)...numbers talk - i'm sure that they'll grow to be one of the main auto manufactures in due time. However, I feel that once Toyota breaks into the Heavy Duty truck market...they'll far surpass all auto manufactures. I heard in one of the confrences that i attended recently (in the auto parts/recycling industry) that Toyota has 6 BILLION dollars in LIQUID cash...sitting...they don't know what to do with it. What keeps GMC/CHEV, FORD, and MOPAR ahead of the game here in North America is the high demand for Heavy Duty commercial vehicles for towing, construction...etc. Your not going to go plow with an element, or haul earth with a honda.
The Industrial sectors rely on tough built Domestic Trucks and Vans from the big 3 right now. Although all of my tow trucks are Chev or GM, I think that if Toyota came out with something like a GM 3500, a lot of people would give it a shot.
...Sucks, eh?

Acording to the JD power and assts. poster in the showroom. Hyundai is above toyota in reliability and cusomer satisfaction. The only 2 companys above us are lexus and porsch. Not bad if you ask me. And the 06-07 sonatas look so much better than any other model before it. plus it hauls ass for a damn korean car! Its not quite as fast as the Fiero though

My first runin with a Hyundai was in Korea on a training exercise in a truck stop parking lot... about 1989 or so. Almost got run over by one cruising through the parking lot, it was so quite I couldn't hear it running. The next time I heard a car that quite it was a new lexus in the mid 90's my shop was doing an oil change on. So quiet it had a warning lamp that would come on if you hit the key again that lit up with "Engine Running", rather than grinding the starter.
