A lot of time, yes....a lot of money, no. Most of these cars were pretty cheap when I bought them. For example, I bought my Mach 1 in 1974 so it was 5 years old (the 70 model year debuting in 1969). It had 50,000 miles on it. I paid $1750 for it. I'm not sure what that would amount to today, given inflation...but back then, I think my car payment was like $50/month. I paid $400 for the 65 Mustang, fixed it up a little and repainted it, and traded it and some cash to the guy that painted it for the 69 Shelby. I always had more than one car at a time, so even the time frame wasn't that long...

I've also owned a couple of boats, and several motorcycles, but as this is a car thread, I didn't list them.

And yeah...I was lucky to have owned many of the cars I did. And don't I wish I had them back now...

1985 Maerattii Bi-Turbo...5 speed 2.5L V-6 Twin turbo. That was a fun car. Too damn much money.
