So just take a guess how much it is to ship the above memory to Anchorage, Alaska?
I'll give you a hint.
It weighs 0.5 pounds.

Give up?
$41.83!

That's some HEAVY memory!

What do they pack it with?

Lead peanuts?

I was looking at that earlier. I get emails from them. That is a good price.

Amazing how much memory prices have come down. The first memory chip I ever bought cost $2000 for a 4 meg chip (static ram).

You do know that 60% of rebates are not honored, right? That's some crazy shipping. Are you sure that they're not compensating for the price?

Hmm. Maybe I've just had good luck. I've only had 2 not honored. One was because I exchanged it and the upc code was showing returned, so they cancelled it (staples), and the other was because it was a floor demo (circuit city). In both cases, I spoke with the manager at the store and got store creit from Staples and cash in hand from Circuit City. I usually buy about 5 rebate items a month, sometimes more depening on how much side work I have.

I'm not doubting you percentage. I do know that a lot of people just don't send them in. You think that is figured into the percentage too?

That's because they ship it 2nd day air. If you want it, have it shipped to me (ground to Reno is $6.99) and I'll repack it and send it to you 1st class mail. I think the postage for 8 oz is about $2. The post office is across the street from a grocery store I use, so it wouldn't be any trouble.

You could have your memory for about $10 total shipping

That right there is very kind.
People sure do freak me out sometimes!

Thanks for the offer, but I need to get some other things done with that money.

Thanx again!
