All stuffed up, head hurts, sinus clogged, sore throat. Decided to stay home today, instead of feeling like crap trying to get work done.

So here I sit. I've taken a few showers, and a couple naps. Now I'm cranked back in the Lay-Z-Boy in my fat pants, with a shirt that I don't know where it came from, and there is pizza sauce smeared from lunch this afternoon due to lack of napkins and laziness. I've watched all kinds of TV since this morning. Saved By the Bell, Family Matters, Full House, Home Improvement, and Seinfeld is on the box now. I even managed to make it through Lord of War and Die Hard with a Vengence. So now, I'm trying to stay awake until I actually go to bed just so I can make an attempt to sleep tonight. And here I thought it'd be an easy day to take off from work, since there wasn't much supposed to going on today. Except they've called four times today, so I get a whole bunch of stuff waiting for me. Just a whole bunch of fun.

Anyway, I'm bored at the moment. Decided I haven't had a post in a while. I'm sure this will fall through pretty quick. And I expect to be back to work tomorrow. But hey this entertained me for a few minutes. Hopefully this was the right choice, and I'll be good as new tomorrow morning. If anybody has some fairy dust, or magic up thier sleeves and would let me borrow some, I'd appreciate it.

So what did you do all day today?

Tim

I thought about stuff.
Then I didn't.
Then I thought about not thinking about stuff.
Then I did.
Right now, I'm inbetween the two.

I animated the Stargate in Augworld (ooooh so nerdy)

I did 12 Computer calls

I built bionic legs for my mantid

I took a walk with the wifie

I drank 5 or 6 energy drinks

I picked my nose, and got me a winner

I sweated a little

I ate a beef jerky

I forgot my mp3 player so I listened to 3 hours of annoying cell phone conversation to/from work.

I watched 200 little baby mantids pop out of an egg case.

I burned a few data cds.

I walked for a mile or so during lunch with a co-worker.

I pooped.

I did all those things
and more...
just
not in that order

I slept until around 1:00 PM. (I worked nights last week, and my body still wants to be on that schedule.)
On top of that, I had a minor outpatient surgical procedure, yesterday. I'm still recovering from that. (Some mild discomfort is to be expected. Ohhh gooooood! )
Don't have to go back to work until Friday night, though.
Daytime TV pretty much blows goats. I usually watch the History Channel or the crime/forensics shows on A&E. Or else I'm right here.

Hope you feel better.

Holy crap, I went to work today and you stayed home?

Well, let's see, today I went to work, boss had left an e-mail on my desk with what was supposed to be my user ID and password. Tried it, it wouldn't log me in, so I called the help desk, and they told me that it wasn't my ID, it was the ID of some dude in Germany working for Opel. After chasing a few more ghosts, eventually found out that they gave me the wrong ID, and got the right one, finally managed to logon to a computer. Then had to figure out how to access the files from my old Unix drive so that I could copy them over to my new PC drive. Finally managed to remote login to my old Unix directory and ftp the files to myself. Since that was going to keep my computer busy for about 4 hours, I figured that was a good time to end the day. Left, went out to dinner with Wench, came back and caught the second Seinfeld episode on TBS, then took a nap, and now I'm thinking that making use of the sauna sounds like a good idea.

I've got some fairy dust I'd let you have, but I can't find it, I'm still unpacking from school and have no idea where anything is.

Hope you feel better! (And I'm afraid to ask, but are your fat pants the skynyrd ones?)

My home sick regimine consists of:

NyQuil
Sleep
NyQuil
Sleep
More NyQuil
Sleep
a bite of dinner, spicy bloody Mary (clears the sinuses), and yet more NyQuil
SLEEP

You'll either wake up the next day feeling better - or you won't wake up. Take your chances.

Made 2,500 DVDs with complete packaging and labeling...made 3 "Memories" DVDs (photo slide show type things)...took the son to school, took the daughter to her babysitter...ate lunch with the wife (Angus Bacon-Cheeseburgers)...made 1,500 CDs (same as DVDs almost)...grilled out chicken sandwiches for dinner...got into a "disagreement" with one of my contract laborers...made numerous phone calls....sent numerous emails....shot a few games of pool with my son...and just got out of the hot tub, and am heading for bed...

MUST BE NICE TO STAY HOME (wait...I am the boss...I need to take off sometimes....)

Alright, actually made it into work today. We'll see how long I last. I feel a lot better than yesterday, but hopefully I'm still contagious enough to visit the people who kept calling me yesterday.

Planning on sippin hot chocolate throughout the day to help the throat. Need to be able to get out and enjoy the sunshine a bit while it's here. Being here can't be much worse than being cooped up at home. We shall see.

At least at home you've got the dog. There, the closest thing you've got is Nicky.

Actually, Nicky isn't here today. And Mom is watching another mut, who Ralph doesn't like (go figure). This stupid thing never stops barking, and he;s a yipper. Plus he only weighs 3 lbs, so trying to find him is like searching for a yipping cricket. So at the moment, work is the better place to be.

But wouldn't it be fun to hike him across the kitchen floor?
