How much more of 'I'm Back'/'EdsB52's garbage are we going to put up with around here?
Yet again he stands right in the middle of Cliff's 'house' and defecates all over something that he obviously has no interest in whatsoever, and does it just to use it as an excuse to fling it at anyone who gives him grief about it.
And he does it in the middle of a memorial thread for someone who was universally admired for his inspiration, strength and stoicism in the face of the biggest challenge of his entire life - a bigger challenge than the vast majority of us will hopefully ever face.
He was shown the door once by Cliff (back when he was abusing both Cliff and the Forum as 'EdsB52'), and Cliff was soft-hearted enough to let him back in again, but how much longer are we going to let this piece of filth continue to spew his tasteless and destructive rhetoric here, now that we can get rid of him ourselves?
When is 'enough' enough?

He has insulted my religious beliefs and my Mother. He has accused me of being a Nazi and a racist. He has hurled insults at me and others with whom he disagrees. He is incapable of respectful, intelligent discourse with anyone. He is a tin foil hat wearing conspiracy nut who contributes nothing to the forum but slander and discord.
I say it's time to put our collective foot down, and remove him.

Hey...this is really handy. First, you have gone against the forum rules of starting threads about threads, but thats ok. I'm glad you brought this to our attention. The rating system is inefficient. Perhaps, for the sake of efficiency we can simply have you guys decide what "trash" needs to be dealt with. Maybe you guys could coordinate weekly over e-mail and give the posting members performance reviews of their posts?
Maybe you guys could tell Cliff you no longer require his services. I mean, its his forum but people are definately deficating all over it, so maybe he'll give it up at a real bargain. Our new moderation team could run this place so well that the only members that you agree with would be allowed. Oh my! No more disagreements about politics, religion or where these damn imports belong.
Or maybe the membership can collectively grow balls, become men and learn to cry in private.
Just a couple thoughts.
Cheers!

I guess I will get a ratings "guage" (not a bar any more). He is sure to neg me because I negatively do not want him amongst us. Allthough I have not doled out my positives I do not need to. But he got my first rating and it was a negative. I have been here awhile but I am stiil a newb. Still posting incorrectly sometimes, can not post photos, still trying to figure out the emotion icons, but I can tell you this : If there were more "I'm Back"s here I would not be !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His user name even suggests he was banned and he is flaunting it.
PM to "I'm Back" : PM me for my address or PM me and dare to give me yours. I can and will make you see the dark. But I won't have to. You evidently do. By the way, how many forums have you been banned from and how many times ?

Gridlock, disagreements make the forum interesting, and promote discussion.
But, people can disagree, and even have spirited debates, in an amicable and intelligent manner. Ed can't. That's the difference.

I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I think this solicitation was a bad idea. I'm not fan of the guy. I think he's abrasive and obnoxious, and trying to have an intelligent conversation with him is, well, not often possible, since he doesn't always seem to come prepared with the proper tools. No doubt, he could tome it down, but he won't. He's too defiant. And certainly I wouldn't shed any tears if all I saw was his white ass heading out the door. But I don't think lobbying for people to kick him out is the answer. Especially not over this. I've seen Stimpy, and other people who are more "popular" make similarly distasteful posts in apparently serious threads, and they don't get this kind of lobbying effort. That seems completely unfair. I've seen this happen before, where someone strarts to whip up a mob mentality and suddenly everyone is jumping on the bandwagon, doing what's popular until someone who's been targeted is ejected. Anyone remember Ryan_Dipietro? Yeah, he was obnoxious and abrasive, but he was funny. He just cheesed a couple of the wrong people around here (the influential inner sanctum, you know who you are) and suddenly, it was the thing to do to give him a negative. Personally, I thought he was funny as hell. Anyway, I say leave it alone, and if people are going to vote him off, then let them do it of their own accord, not because someone has made it a personal mission to have him banned. Face it, unless he drops it down a notch, it'll happen anyway without your help. And yeah, on a morbid level, that cartoon was kinda funny. I don't know why anyone would take it so seriously. Personally, I didn't like Christopher Reeve, whenever I saw him on TV I always changed the channel, since I knew he would eventually break into some sermon about his disability. I'm a fan of "shut up and do it".

wow. A bunch of people rally together and try to get someone banned, using the rating system that they deemed 'effective'.. Gotta love the irony though.. Anyone remember when Lex asked how would you guys take it if the 'red bar brigade' teamed up and got a 'green' member banned? I don't see a difference frankly. Because a lot of jerks agree to be jerks, it makes them the 'green' team?
Says the other "tin foil hat wearing conspracy nut"

Well, this thread won't affect my rating of him one way or the other. He's had a negative from me for a long time. But with regard to the Christopher Reeve thread, the picture wasn't what irritated me. Yeah, it was tasteless, and inappropriate for a memorial thread. Funny? Nah, not really. Not because it was in poor taste, I just didn't find it amusing. Did it piss me off? No, what pissed me off was the fact the yet again, Ed takes a thread and turns it into a name-calling trash fest. It's basically all he ever does, in whatever thread he posts in.
That being said, I also don't think we should campaign to have members banned. While I would love to see no more of I'm Back, and I don't understand how he hasn't gotten enough negatives yet, I say let him get himself banned. We don't need to stoop to his level to get him booted, just let nature take it's course. We'll have to wait longer, but it'll be the same result.

Agreed - that's my point entirely.
Him doing it right in the middle of the memorial thread was simply what broke the camel's back. It's far from what this is centered upon. It's just the latest blatant example of a long history of the same type of behavior.

Agreed. *That* is the point of this thread. He has, once again, gone too far. It isn't just one tasteless cartoon, he's been doing this crap for too long. How long should we wait to s**tcan him? How much more of his garbage do we have to endure?

I'd like to vote to ban him twice...but then again I'm no Democrat.
I understand Cliff wanting to cut someone some slack who genuinely has an epiphany and sees the err of his ways but I think there should be rules:
1) If you get banned and re-instated you are on probation. 2) no right to rate ANYONE 3) you can get banned again with Half as many bad ratings - and this time permenantly 4) all ratings your have given are removed (your stench must be cleansed from this Earth)
