AS luck would have it I caught a light with a 99+ Stang Gt. No idea on mods. didnt' ask. Guy had the pimp lean going and sounded confused when I asked him if he wanted to run them. 260 hp from the factory and easily mid 14's if not better.
So at the light I see the opposite go yellow so I bring the RPMs up to get ready. Watching for cops and I see none. All looks good. A nice stretch of road about a 1/8 mile along ahead. Not a kitten or nun in sight.
Light goes green I drop the clutch from 2500 rpm(normally drop it at 3k) and I just bog the sh!t out of it. Rpms drop to about 1500 but I stay in it. Motor finally catches up and it begins to go. Top of first I have about a nose on him. I go to shift to second and miss it. Tach screamed to 6500+ rpm. TWICE. I am such an idiot. After missing it the first time I let off and then try and jam it in but it wouldnt' go. DOH! Oh well. I have stuck right next to a modded Lt1 camaro from a roll before so I think this would have been a good race

For some reason 2nd gear is the only gear I have trouble getting it into when racing. All the other gears I am able to powershift. from 2nd to 3rd I am able to powershift and from 3rd to 4th I am able but even if I let out of the gas completely when racing with the tach at 6k rpm its still hard to get into second. I HATE IT!. It takes about a good second to go from 1st to second when I shift. I have only been able to powershift 1-2 on a few occasions. But man did I have to manhandle that shifter in order to do so. Oh well. Maybe next time.

Just because something is posted doesn't mean it's true. I could post a picture a photoshop it to look anyway I want, color wheels engine bay. Anyone remember certain timeslips that were posted? Therefore, take comfort in believing whatever you want.

My dad's does the same thing. If you floor it in first and try to go to second, it wont go in. If your just driving nice it goes in pretty good. I believe what's causing it is the select cable *maybe shift* I forget which one does what.
I have a one year old select cable from Dickman. I belive its my shift cable. it just feels really notchy is all. Its not smooth at all. Even shifting slow into second when not racing I can feel it almost binding. It goes in without much effort but I can feel it haveing a notchy effect. All the other gears seem fine.
Its prob the shift cable. I am not too worried about it. I just need to learn to manhandle it more. I have been able to powershift it before its just that last night I was being a panzy.
And everyone please ignore Masterbaitor. he is just trolling my posts trying to get a rise out of everyone. He just likes the attention. He doesnt' have a fiero and we all know that. Masterbator couldnt' beat the sh!t out of a diaper. He will be gone soon. So dont' fret.

Do you have the 4 spd muncie? That's what I have in my 86 SE, and I occasionally miss 2nd gear, which is the only gear I ever miss. Talk about embarassing as hell....grrrrriind...revvvvv. Maybe it's just a problem with the 4 spd in general? Who knows.
I tried my hand at a 2004 Stang GT two weeks ago. My cousin Mike had bought this car almost a year ago. It's a manual 4.6L and triple black. Good looking car. Mike was always a Mopar owner so I was puzzled when he picked up this Ford.
Anyways, we both left from the Mapleview car show and I had my dad's '69 Dart, 340 cu.in. 4 speed. As luck would have it we both stopped intentionally for a red light. This was only the 4th time I had drove this car so I wasn't out to abuse it. So, the light turns green and I immediately hole shot him and I don't look back. I get rubber in 2nd, I mean the tires are spinning. By the time I hit 3rd, the next red light is coming up and i get out of the throttle. That was when I heard Mike coming up fast on me.
We both stop for the light and all Mike can say is "sure glad I didn't have money on that one.."
Sorry for the highjack, just thought it was relevent to Sean's story.
