I stay up till all hours watching the news, and noticed there was a thunderstorm watch for our county. About 3am, I go out the apt to see what the sky looked like & see my old jeep with white toilet paper wrapped all around it. WTH?, I don't know any young kids, so I walk down to it & am in for a bigger suprise. Chocolate syrup, pinto/pork & beans, and rice smeared & gobbed all over it, and I mean all over it. First, I was mad, then I laughed, then I saw the writing, & got mad again. KKK-white trash 4-ever-ni***rlover-happy cinco demiyo(they couldn't spell) just all sorts of vulgarities. References to 1942.?. Now, I don't know why or who anyone would do this, period, or why I was picked out of a lot full of vehicles. Haven't pi**ed anyone off lately, so I guess it was just a random choice. The jeep was un locked, tools and expesive fishing gear in the back, drivers window was down a couple of inches. Nothing was taken, nothing broken, no damage inside.

Anyway, I called SA's finest, they came out made out a report. Said it was a new one on them. Then he asked the strangest question. Said he had to ask. "Did you give anyone permission to do this?"
What the heck kind of question is that? So, at 4am I'm off to the car wash before all that crap dries. 1st time it's been washed in 6 months.
Why would someone do this? I am laying down, watching tv, 60ft from that jeep. I may be old, & probably wouldn't have shot them dead, but I'd dam* well made them wished I had.

OTOH, I'm so glad the Fiero is safe & sound in the shop having an engine put in, & not parked where my Jeep was like it usually is.

Now that the vehicle is cleaned up move it to a different parking spot--something that requires a driver to go out of their way to look at it--and wait for the kids to drive by in the morning.

I bet you'll be able to zoom in on the culprits driving by to observe their handy work.

The Jeep is always parked in a sort of alcove in the parking lot. There's no way to just casually drive by it. It's at the very end of a dead end, probably why they picked it. No traffic coming by to observe them.

You are in Texas. Why didn't you shoot them?

Sorry to hear MJ. Obviously it wasn't personal, just a billboard to them. Gangbangers or punks like to mark their territory. Several years ago my girlfriend and me came out of the movie theatre to find some punks had marked her new white car with a marker. They wrote some gang gibberish, and fortunately weren't smart enough to use indelible ink, so it came off with alcohol. I bet 5% of them get caught and throttled, wish it were higher.

Because I didn't catch them. I like to think I would have more concern for life than a $4 carwash, but who knows when something happens in your presence.

They're not real smart-besides the mis spelling, Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) isn't till next month. Yesterday was the 5th of April.
And they left the bean cans, the choc syrup cans, and the spoon they used right beside the Jeep. Yep, I've laughed about it myself. I took some pictures, but don't know how they'll come out in the dark.
I stated I was the victim-but they are the victims, of their own twisted beliefs.
They wouldn't make a pimple on the Iraqi citizen's ass that saved Pvt Lynch. Now THAT is a man!!

I doubt it was totally random. Either someone else has a jeep like yours or some low life thinks you've been fraternizing with the "enemy". Any hispanic friends at works? You said that life is worth more than the $4.oo dollar carwash. I am going to have to disagree. The more people get away with, the less they are punished, the more they will do. I feel that just about any type of an attack on a person, or their property should be punishable by death. If it was, there would be a lot less of it happening. Cut off some arms at the very least, and others would think twice before trashing what others have worked hard to get.

People are becoming more and more rude to each other everyday. People like this should never be allowed to breed.

I think it was the Philippines maybe, or maybe not. But what you are subscribing to is specific deterrence; do you really think it works? Statistics refute specific deterrence through high rates of recidivism, and most experts in the field tend to feel punishment has little to no general deterrence, so punishment is relegated to good ole Old Testament retribution. As I wrote above, more of these punks should be throttled, but not so they can learn polite behavior, but because it feels good! It's basically the knee-jerk reaction to say that they will learn to never do it again, but the statistics simply don't support that philosophy. If people do grow and stop their ill behavior, it is likely attributed to something else like typical maturity.

Michael Faye, if I'm recalling correctly, was caned in Singapore. And rightfully so.

Ah, you're right and I'm right. I do believe it was Singapore and deterrence doesn't work. Beat someone harder, get a warmer, fuzzier feeling, if you're into that kind of stuff. Want to permanently change behavior, you must understand what the problem is and correct it.
