They haven't existed for 15 years, but they're still my favorite. (a type of Frosted Flakes, but make with wheat, and 'frosted' with maple syrup flavor instead of sugar.)
Now that I mention it, the chocolate version of Frosted Flakes they had last year was pretty awesome, too.
LZ, I got to thinkin about that cereal & realized I had no idea what a buckwheat is. (other than the cereal) It's called the poor man's wheat cause farmers can't make much money on it. It doesn't produce much grain. As a matter of fact, the link I read, said, if you take a bushel of seeds, plant them on an acre of land, you will harvest back--LESS than a bushel of buckwheat!!

Aus, we have something called coco-puffs here. I think the commercial for them involves an animated monkee, been a long time since I watched tv on Sat morning.

Hmm... interesting. I had no idea there was such a thing.
I'm sure the cereal probably used regular wheat flakes, though, but now we know where the name came from...
Poured on either of these in a "Jethro Bowl", a 5 pound bag of Sugar. I like a little cereal with my sugar. It adds texture, color and just a hint of another flavor to kick it up a notch.
YUM! And the Sugar Buzz is to die for!

Don't have cereal often and it depends on my mood - but first choice is Wheat Chex, then Shredded Wheat. Use to love Buc Wheats (hmmmmmm there seems to be common ingredient to these huh?lol).
common guys your forgetting the best cereal of all Lucky Charms! what other cereal has as much marshmellowy goodness? When I was a kid I use to eat all the hard floaty things first (what are those things anyways) and leave all the marshmellows till last. mmmm milk and marshmellows.
