I couldn't find the Empire Carpet thread from several days ago. Well, that's not true, I really didn't look, but two new commercials had me chuckling and thinking about that thread.
1) A guy is sitting outside the house at a picnic table. He's going on about these new snacks. They're crunchy outside, and chewy inside. In fact, they're almost habit forming. He just doesn't understand why there's a cat of the front of the package.... (They're cat treats.)
2) A sendup of the Sprint commercials by our local funiture celebrities, Barry and Elliot of Jordan's Furniture.
The husband and wife are relating what he said and what she heard to the cellular guy. He said, "Get me some loafers and a couple of ties." She heard, "Get me a sofa, and a couple of guys." So, sitting in their living room are Barry and Elliot on a leather couch.
The cell guy recommends calling the cellular co. to take the guys back, but keep the sofa.

LOL. I like the commericial for Geico Direct car insurance. A car is comming down the road, and a squiral runs out in front of it...you hear the car screaching its brakes then wreck...then the squirel meets another squirel and they stand up and laugh and high five each other and stuff...pretty funny. Or the York Peppermint Patty one w/ the old man who says.."When I bite into a York Peppermint Patty, I get the sensation that......well, Im just glad I still can get a sensation!"

We have some funny commercials here too. There's an insurance company called "Apeldoorn" that always has very funncy commercials. Their slogan is "Better call Apeldoorn". This is their latest commercial:
You see a guy driving a cement-truck, he looks at his watch, looks at the picture of his wife on his dashboard and he makes a "what difference does an hour or two make"-face. He turns his truck around and drives home. When he arrives home, he notices a very nice Mercedes convertible in his driveway. He walks past it, gives it his approval nod, and walks to the front window of his house and glances in. There he sees a man giving his wife flowers and she kisses and hugs him. He gets upset, gets in his truck and backs it up against the Mercedes. He then pours cement in the Mercedes while making a obscene gesture to the Mercedes. He walks back to the front window, glances in again, and suddenly he notices a man with a camera filming the two. His wife then spots him and with a big smile on her face shouts out "Eddy!" and waves to him. She then holds up a large sign with the words "1st Price" and a picture of the Mercedes. Then the slogan "Better call Apeldoorn" appears on the screen.

The SAME thing happens... when he gets home he sees the guy hug his wife and then he dumps the load of cement and then his wife comes out and she is like honey look what i got for you for your birthday and she is waving the car keys... cant remember what comercial is for though!

Sounds like a Chick-fil-A rip off. They've been running the Eat Mor Chikn thing with the cows for years.

1. The boss and 2 younger guys walking to a meeting, boss asking if they are ready. First guy says don't worry, got it all right here pointing to his head, as they round a corner and he runs face first into an open file cabinet drawer... out cold. Cut to the meeting, boss seated, second younger guy walks up and tells boss not to worry he told him everything as he leans on the table, his hand slips on a piece of paper and he smacks his head on the table as he falls. Is your data backup ready???
2. Extreme closeup of a guy we can hear thinking about a traction control system, how did that work again, etc... As it zooms out he thinks that would be nice to have as we see his car spinning 360s down the highway on a sheet of ice. Don't remember what car...
I don't remember the product name on either. I guess they're not as effective as they think, huh???

I laugh my @ss off every time I see this commercial. I actually work with a guy that rolled his brand new Grand Prix avoiding a squirrel on the highway. We now call him Squirrel.
