When I was attached to 3rd Tank Bn, we had a family day/picknic where the main entertainment was a drawing to see which M1 driver got to run over a car donated by a local salvage yard. I guess I was expecting the tank to climb over the car like a monster truck does but it didn't look like that at all. The tank just rolled straight ahead like it was on smooth pavement and the car just dissapeared beneath the treads and became a sheet metal pancake. Don't argue with someone in a 136,000 pound vehicle.

Until some cop blows your head off while you're stuck on the highway.

I made my statement from a true story. Remember that guy that stole the tank and went around running things over? He made it on to the highway and eventually got hung up on the barrier between the 2 directions of traffic. The cops took a pair of bolt cutters to the hinges on the hatch and eventually got it off. The cop then killed the guy in order to stop him. Noone was hurt except for the guy being killed.
