Actually, it was Dr. Albert Southwick in 1881 who first came up with the idea of death by electrocution.

Did you also know that:

A pig's orgasim can last up to 30 minutes.
A lion can mate up to 50 times a day.
(Man, if you could just combine both of those fine qualities!)

Not "peanuts", but "peanut oil".

"4:20" is the universal time for smoking dope.

I wish I could fall asleep in 7 minutes. Or stay asleep longer than 7 minutes.

stewardesses--Hey! That's right.

typewriter--Correct, too.

And American Airlines saved an additional $20k by eliminating the olives in the pilots mid flight martinis.

I'm never eating chocolate again. (My doctor and wife thank you. )

Actually.....

On the two dollar canadian bill (which ceased circulating in 1996) IT is the current canadian maple leaf flag. On the $5 and $10 bill , the Canadian red ensign is flying which to the untrained eye looks similar to the stars and stripes. ON the $100 bill the Union Jack is flying from parliment. The $20 and $1000 bill depict no flags.

The word "racecar" and "kayak" are the same whether they are read left to right or right to left.

Level and noon are 2 more I rememeber...

A snail can sleep for 3 years.

I wanna be a snail.

The electric chair was invented by a dentist.

I'd hate to have been the first person that they executed in it, ebfore they realized that it was current, not voltage that killed people. I read a book that talked about that. Very nasty stuff.

north america and south america don't end with the same letter they start with.

I think that it was just referring to America, and not the north and south designation.

They're called palindromes (Webster defines them as: a word, verse, sentence or number that reads the same backward or forward) and the world's longest is:

a man a plan a canal panama

Cliff, How long did it take you travel the world and do all that research??? So why is it that some people don't eat breakfast again? m-m-m-m-m spiders!

Oh one other question, is the protein label correct on chocolate bars? Or do we force the manufacturers to update their label accordingly?

edited for 2nd question

How come on v8 juice it's labled as a vegetable juice and not vegetable juice and fruit juice? Taste like the main ingredient in it is tomato juice and that is a fruit.

...I suppose to produce the necessary current, it took more voltage than they originally estimated - that first person probably put up some resistance to being executed. Ugh. This gets sicker by the minute. Revolting, actually.

the longest phrase I could come up with that reads the same upside down is:

Pompous snodwod

I was thinking of naming my hobiecat that, cause when you capsize the boat, the name would still be readable upsidedown - ended up naming it HydroManiac instead

it takes very little voltage to kill yourself - a kid electocuted himself once with an ohm meter, which was powered by an ordinary 9 volt battery, when he put it on ohms and stuck the leads in his ears. The current flow through his brain stopped his heart and he died.

I think all the words in the phonetic alphabet dont ryme with anything: Alpha, Beta, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot... thats why they use it, cause B sounds like D,E,G,P,T,V, and Z so on a bad radio channel you can not mistake BETA for anything...

I'm aracnophobic.

What's pleasant about eating spiders in ones sleep?

Even baby spiders (smaller then a pin head) to me are "MONSER TRANTULAS!" trying to get me.

If you compress a spring and drop it into a vat of acid, what happens to the stored potential energy?

I just woke up this morning wondering that.

ive seen palendrones alot longer than that one - search the palendrone web sites

there are web sites that generate anagrams too: my son ran one on 'Machintosh Computer' and got TONS of really funny anagrams - he uses them as the names of computers on his mac network - at the moment I cant remember any of them.

Isn't it the AMPS that kill you (I understand it takes less then a 1/16 of an AMP to kill you) not the volts (unless of course you are being hit by GIGAVOLTS).

9 Volt battery in an Ohm meter? I just tried mine and I can't even get a buzz off of it. Think of me to try.

"Here Jeff. Hold on to the two copper ends of these wires while I go flip the switch."

CLICK! Phhhyyyyzzzzzaaattttt!

Anyways, as I was saying, the kid must have had a pacemaker.

the part of it that is desolved first will break and release the rest of the tension in the spring, splashing acid all over.

also the bad thing about eating spiders in your morning cereal - after you eat the last spider, all you have left is cereal.

<slurring> Ohcayyy Ken, now vhat?

It just tingles and I'm using a new 9 volt battey fresh out of the package.

AH! Just a second! I think my heart just skipped a beat! I bess quit while I'm still alive!

Actually, as a child, I use to grab the 9-volt batteries out of anything that I could to get that copper taste from the buzz.

Also, my dad, as well as I, can grab the electrical wires (from an outlet/light switch) and hold onto them. Tingles alot more and numbs you faster...but I'm still hear.

Its the peeing on electric fences that does me in... yowsa ! Thats a tingling feeling you never forget, let alone ever wish to experience again!
