I haven't been here long , and I don't know if this has been a long time problem , but has anyone else noticed an increase in Trouble makers on the forum?? (Just to clairify this does not pertain to the GTA show thread)

I just saw a post about fiero people having to watch themselves about making MR2 comments. I searched the forum and got a very "teenage" like vibe from the person posting it. Then there's the current threat of the whole lesbian thing where someobne wants to see pics of Fiero lisa and other women of the forum. Again a Teenage like Vibe Came up , the grammar is very poor , as is the level of intelligence the person convey's. This is not to say All teenagers act this way , infact I have found most of them on the forum to be an asset to the growing hobby of Fiero-ing. There is another instance where 4 different members slader Japenese cars , all quote song lyrics from the same band , and all partake in the same outdoor activity , that is popular amongst male teenagers.

I get the feeling there is One person behind all of this. It's not even Funny like the posts about putting NOS on a 2m4 , and the guy offering Lisa Bus tickets to his trailer. It is offensive and of no real use to anyone. We all dump our BS in the Totally Off topic section , or as it should be called the gutter.. it's a place to laugh at others , and support them in times of need with the loss of love ones or hard times in their life.

Sorry just venting.. I too have a second forum name , I started to use it when someone was hasseling me on the forum , saying things about me for personal reasons , and basically who my GF was at the time. I used the name to get away from an identity and to keep ties with the Fiero world , I never used it to suport my own claims or sell products.

I guess i'm just frustrated with the state of the forum , there seems to be a lot of BS going down in some threads...you can say don't read it all you want , but it is there , and it is getting annoying.

I was just wondering if this is a regular occurence.. I wish there were a subscription fee to the Forum , it would mean one user name and the ability to really ban a person from our othrwise happy fiero community

I agree with you completely. The day-to-day humor is great. Lot's of clever and funny people, but it's starting to become more difficult to sort through the threads. Some thread start out fine and fall apart from there.

I highly doubt one person is behind it though, the posts are too stupid to be only one person. The problem with the forum, and the internet as a whole, is anonymity. People are not held responsible for the things they say and do. They hide behind a screen name. Therefore a 14 year old wimp can become Miss Illinois 96 or even Mr Universe.

Instead of talking about how bad it all is, if each one of us will do his or her part to keep it clean, it will get better...

Well, I'm glad you saw some humor in Maniak84's paintmarker-fume induced ramblings. slammed, I think this comes along with the territory. Meaning, the forum has grown a lot in the past year or so. More people you have, more chances of morons. When the forum was small, people sort of kept tabs on eachother. Now that it's grown so much, everything is a little wilder. It's always easier to control 100 people then 3,000, as it is easier for 100 people in a group to control themselves then it is for 3,000.

soon as a thread goes where I dont want, i just move on. Happens in real life too. You ignore people that are irritating.

Some of the stuff said is pretty crude. It's sort of like the Jerry Springer show...only in ascii. I just sit back and try to laugh it off.

Slammed, the majority of these hostile rants stem from insecurity and jealousy. So in a way you should be flattered.
But your right, the vocabulary and context to which many of these posts adhere to seem to be from the minds of young teenagers that actually do not know any better. The majority of them have always lived in the Internet/e-mail age. Some people don't have the social skills to interact with others because they have always hidden behind a keyboard.
Just my oppinion, but I have been known to be wrong on many occasions.

Once again, if you see a thread that's offensive, send me an email. At the moment, I receive on average one complaint per email every two weeks. I (still) don't read every single thread so I need the input of other forum members.

This does not automatically mean that when you send me a request to delete a thread for instance, I will immediately follow up on it. I usually keep an eye on the thread in question and if it seems its already a dying thread, I'll leave it.

I'm sorry to anyone if my posts offend anybody. I feel I get along with most members pretty well (alright...albeit the .035714% = (1/2800)*100 ) and in most cases try my dardnest to be humourous within a post.

I couldn't agree more, as much as I cause sh1t sometimes, I do'nt start responding to threads like that stupid MR2 thread, that was just a dumb thread asking for a fight, the thing is those things don't work much anymore those of us around here long enough just ignore it.

Personally, this is my one and only name on the forum. If I have something to say, i say it as me. And if someone finds offense with me, which that hasn't been brought to my attention yet but still may happen, I do what I can to apologize and explain myself. But it seems to me some people on here either say things JUST to get a flame war started, or they do it out of total ignorance and instad of listening to the voice of reason, demand they are right. But such is human nature.

another thing i see is ppl ganging up on one person. i know its cool to defend your friends but sometimes i think ppl do it just for a excuse to post and talk sh*t to somebody.

All I have to say is "nothing is perfect" no matter how small and restrictive something is you will always have 1 or 2 in the bunch. Even on a "pay" forum your still going to have em. bann them and someone else will take their place.
The Borg had the idea right off the bat "resistance is futile" once applied to everyday life then you will see how much easier it is to live with.

I personaly like to call a spade a spade and that rule has been applied to myself as well. There are some people that get their jolies pissing off other people. I like to trow mud at them on occasion but for the most part sticks and stones ect. ect.
So I guess what I'm trying to get across is, don't let them get to you. The best defence is to be like vapor, that really pisses them off.

i changed my name a while back, but it was because this was the first thing i joined on the internet and i kinda filled the form out wrong. like others, i use just this name not only here, but everywhere on the internet i can (i guess it's wierd enough that no one else wants it). i hope that even if someone used it somewhere else where i'm not registered for what ever reason (trouble or fun), it would be obvious to someone who's seen what i've written on the net before to know it's not me. like in real life, i think of it as protecting my good name and reputation.

i have a few times been very upset with things i've read here and left the forum. i didn't post about it 'cause i know 1 monkey dosen't stop the show. i cool down or the thread finally fades away and i start posting again.

as for trolls and people who insult for fun or are just really insensitive, i try to just let that go. i don't understand joining a forum when you don't have the car or whatever the forum focuses on or any positive interest in it. i have a lot more trouble with that on another forum. in fact i guess i'm sometimes considered the troll.

i'm rambling, but thats just some stuff i've been thinking. it's wierd. if i had to give up all but one car i'd most likely keep my chevy. but if i made that choice by which forum i like best i'd be keeping a fiero.
