I took a class at out local Coummunity College and some of my fellow students were asking if I had seen Apollo 13 and I said yes and that I thought it was terrible but then I realized they were talking about the movie.

I was in first grade when JFK got shot. Still remember the teacher making the announcement.
Was in 6th grade when we landed on the moon.
Still have the B&W Polaroids that I snapped from the TV screen.

Yeah, I remember Jordache jeans, too. I also remember that although they were really expensive, when they got old and faded they looked exactly like old and faded Levi's. Not like that's a bad thing.

Anybody know what a "1A3" is?

Speaking of the moon landing, I saw a TV program about it a couple of years ago. Seems that the guidance system computer that they used for the lunar lander was the functional equivalent of a 486!

I was in work in the produce dept. of a supermarket when I heard Kennedy had been shot. The one thing I remember most of all the moon shots was an announcer on television saying"They're over the Atlantic, and going straight up"

i was at home "sick" when i saw the challenger go up. the thing that still seems haunting was that the announcer kept announcing the stages of the liftoff after it had exploded like nothing had gone wrong for like the next 5-10 minutes. very spooky.

Huh? Whats this? a joke? From the subject line I thought this thread was going to be a Viagra testimonial. LOL. I'm just about to turn 20 and have never used an 8-track. I remember when computers only came in black and white tho! Those were the good ol days... hehe

I remember those god awful Apple 2's we used in grade school. Those things were the biggest pieces of junk ever invented. However they taught me the basics of computers so I guess I can't complain too much.

I remember my old 386 computer. My first games were Police Quest and Doom. Police quest was awesome, it had a 1-900 number to call for hints, my parents were pissed when they saw the phone bill! (2.99 a min.)

The good ole days.... (90s)

Warning: useless info ahead

I remember hearing about the Challenger in school, I was in grade 1.. don't recall anything specific about that day though.
I was in my kitchen with my sister when the fighting broke out in the gulf war.. I remember vanilla ice, MC Hammer.. rat tails (used to have that hair style.. hey, don't laugh.. I was 9...) I have a Colecovision somewhere still, and an original Nintendo.. I remember those cool canvas shoes.. I even remember when Reebok introduced "Black Top" running shoes.. I still have the plastic tag, I use it as a keychain. (that was back when I still wore running shoes, now I wear boots.) also..
-ninja turtles
-fat albert (hey hey hey!!)
-ghostbusters, the cartoon
-peewee's playhouse

If the Apollo program in 1969 had the equivilant of a 486, why do the space shuttles now only have 386s?

Damn, I am 19, and I know quite a few of them.......I have a black and white TV with like 22 channels, does that count? I still have an Atari 2600, pong is great, packman rocks! I like pitfall the best though. I own a record player, and I have some Michael Jackson records from when he was black, Got some of his 8 tracks and a player too (suprise, suprise)! Have you ever watched Nick at Night??? I dont have an answering machine now, we had a typerwriter, i could use it, McDonalds still surves some breakfast food in styrofoam containers and yes, I know who Kansas, Chicago, Boston and alabama are because remember, we do have parents!!!

I think the Michael Jackson one was the best..........

Well, now I have a Pentium 166 but i am buying a pentium 800, man, how quickly things change. OOH, by the way, i still have poliece quest and Doom on my computer. Those are the best.
