I'm in my third year at the University of Saskatchewan working towards my Batchelor of Fine Arts and Art History degree, and a honour degree in Archeology. I also have my own little Architectural Visualization business that I run from my basement suite that really seems to be taking off. I actually got to work on the design studies for the Canadian Lightsource Synchroton Particle Accelerator they are building at the Univesity. I'm pretty proud, only three of them in all of North America, and I got to help out with it! After I'm done school University I plan to combine my Art History/Fine Arts/ Archeology/Computer Graphics Animation skills and to get a position with a team of Egyptologists and try to recreate using 3D modeling some of the historic sites amd buildings that their people would have seen several thousand years ago.

Sounds awesome! but, if you ever get to meet Zahi Hawass... tell him I think he's a j@ckass! lol.. he won't let people explore some parts of the giza pyramids.. other chambers have been found in the great pyramid, but no one's allowed to send probes in to see what's there. he's also ignored hard evidence that the sphinx was partly eroded by water.. and there hasn't been enough water in egypt to cause erosion of that magnitude, for about 10,000 years.. they can't explain that, so they ignore it.. I hate it when people do that..
but anyway, it sounds like you have an interesting career planned!
Loafer, that sounds really neat. When you get to the "lost" city of Ubar, south of the Rub al Khali, let me know! Oh yeah, I'm the Water Boy, for the Coffee Girl, who runs the Coffee Pot in the Cube, in the building by the Lake.

speaking of certification tests.. I designed the interface for one of the test engines used to help people study for the MSCE...
I don't think the software is on the market yet.. then again, I haven't talked to the company since.. I was hired as a 3rd party independent contractor.
Regional Technical Advisor for Yamaha Motor Corp. Basically I help dealers on the phone with problems they have on bikes, sleds, ATVs, PWCs, and jet boats. Pretty fun.

I work for Mac Millan-Piper. Swing shift 2:30pm to 11:00pm. Its not a bad job, I'm the lead guy on that shift, and like the no. 4 guy in the whole warehouse. I do a little bit of everything.
Onfire, I work for a wholesale floorcovering outfit HQ'D out of Portland, Oregon called the Cronin Company. I'm working in our branch here in Tacoma. Dig this job, dig this Company, and I really LOVE my shift, 5:30 a.m - 2:30 p.m! I'm off early enough in the day to still take advantage of the daylight!
Sorry it took so long to answer your question (spent the majority of the weekend doing our annual inventory -UHHGGG- I HATE inventory). Wife will like the paycheck though, the O/T will sure come in handy for Christmas! Cruisin'

Journeyman Electrician for Sierra Pacific Resources, Nevada Power. I am responsible for the design implimentation and interpretation of various engineering products and redesign of inadiquately engineered facilities. Mostly spend my time telling engineers how they have screwed up and what they want to do they cant. Unforunately what looks good on paper is not alway feasable in the field. Todays new engineers have no practical experience with field application, thus they don't know what they are doing. That's why I make more money than most electrical engineers.
Peace, B2 OUT!

We just finished wiring a building that had a comm room with no power at all under the raised floor and only 4 receptacles total in the room altogether. Talk about your inadequately engineered facilities....The facilities EE had some explaining to do.

Sounds like a full-time job, BAM-BAM !
I'm a mechanical (that's pronounced "make-a-nickel" ) design engineer with one of the aircraft companies in Wichita. Know enough about electrical /electronic design to scare people. I like it, for the most part.

Didn't get a diploma, but AT&T Canada still hired me on as a Communications Technician. I sit in a cubicle and design circuits between switches, etc for the national network.

Hey Haze, I am a Carpenter also. Kind of explains why you seem a little unstable sometimes. I am also a Student aiming for a bachelor’s degree in business and I have an associate’s degree in Automotive Technology (that was a waste of time). I even passed ASE A1-A8. I am in my second year with a 3.76 GPA.
I guess you could call me a perpetual student.

Process Piping Designer (Oil, Gas and Chemical Plants)- proficient in about a half dozen CAD programs. Been designing since 1979, and using CAD since 1984 starting with mainframe based programs prior to moving to desktop PCs once they became powerful enough.
Parts Specialist at O'Reilly Auto Parts makes working on a fiero really cheap. Just one added perk. If I learned one thing from reading this post, it is that a fiero is definately made for everyone from all walks of life. It is a car that everyone should own and love to drive.
