I was waiting in the parking lot at one of our local parks(Iron Horse for the locals), listening to the radio, and picking off the black stuff that seems to grow on the radio control knobs, while I waited for my sister's soccer game to end(very boring). It is sunny outside, I have the windows down, and am enjoying the day(as much as I could have been). I suddenly hear this crunching sound, as some kid in a white car(corsica?) is backing out of his space, and has turned the wheel too far, and scrapes up the side of a newer Cadillac. Turns out he was just moving his car, and parks it a few spaces down. He gets out, looks over his car, and begins to walk away. A lady in a mini-van beside me confronts him, tells him she will write down his plate number, and he pretty much just blows it off and keeps walking, ignoring her. That pissed me off. I got out, grabbed my camera, took pictures of both cars, and followed the kid(maybe 16yrs old) as he walked to the soccer fields. Seeing the owners of the Caddilac park eariler, I set out to find them, and keep the kid in my sight. I find the owner, tell him what happend, and pointed out the kid, sitting in a lwan chair about 10 yards off. He thanks me, I leave, and he confronts, the kid. I don't know what happend afterwards with the owner, but I was outraged this kid with 3 people witnessing the accident, and all of them confronting him as he walks away, doesn't seem to care one bit. I was ready to haul off and pop him one right across the jaw, but figured that wasn't smart on my part. I hope the next time he hits someones car in a parking lot, he thinks about what I did about it, and goes with the legal and moral side. I hope that guy gave him hell.

The shame of it is that young inconsiderate punk has an attitude that will only change with maturity(hopefully). His actions may only change with the fear of punishment or retaliation.
I was kind of hoping he would take a swing at me as I walked right in front of him after notifying the owner. That way I could somewhat justify haling off on his a$$. He was just some little dude, maybe 100lbs. He didn't seem like the "punk" variety, more of the "gang that rides bmx bikes painting letters on walls in the middle of the night in a town with 250 people, and not a single employed cop" type. I think he would have wet his pants if a cop had confronted him.

This is why I always park my Fiero in the boonies. I still have jerks park next to me when there is no one parked near my car. I don't know why they can't see why I park out there.
Someone here in the forum not too long got hit and had better luck (I think it was Fred Naught). The guy took off, but left his number on his Fiero.
Just makes ya sick when these kids have no respect for anything or anyone.
Oh yeah!!! The NERVE of some people posting pics of their pretty black formula Fieros on here! I hope those people realize some of us are extremely envious, and it almost hurts to see such a vehicle when I dont have one!
I don't have the extinguisher in mine yet. I always say I will, but have never gotten aroudn to it. Maybe this week.
The trick to the "cleaning the radio knob mod" is to take the knob off the radio before you start scraping away at it, or you begin changing stations. Other than that, just use a fingernail, and go to town. In a few minutes the knob is clean, and its back to searching for something else in the car that isn't perfect.
The Formula isn't very clean right now. I should give it a bath, but the SE has been getting all the attention lately . I have been planning to post pics of my new baby, but my computer won't recognize the camera as a camera, it sees it as an HDD .
Nah, you wouldn't get a hit and run or anything like that. Actually, wait, nevermind, thats not private property.. But I ran a stop sign and totalled some guys car a week ago, and I just got a $110 fine (thats about $70 us).. New car off the lot that day, too..
He MIGHT get his license taken away. At least that's what would happen in Minnesota. The way it goes is that you get a provisional license until 18, then get a "real" one. The only way you can lose your provisional license is to speed excessively (like 20-30 over), or to get into an accident, no matter who's at fault. Since there were three witnesses, he probably couldn't talk his way out of it.
In Ontario, we get a G1, which you can drive if you have someone with at least 4 years experience in the pass. seat, and then after 8 months (12 if you didn't take driver training) you get to get your G2, which lets you drive with no alcohol, then (which i have to do sometime!!) you take the G test, and your home free. You have to do all this in a specific amount of years. As for Minesota (sp?), you get your licence taken away if your in an accident but it's not even your fault? Thats the stupidest thing I've ever heard..

holy sh*t... are you serious????????????? how many points did you lose?? you gotta be joking, right?
Nope, not kidding. It was two days before thanksgiving, and I was driving my big 3/4ton Chevy Van, and ran a stop sign (I don't know what was going on in my head.. I kept watching it, but it didn't register. NEver done something like that before).. Anyways, we both sort of hit each other in the corners (my front passenger, his driver side), and although the damage didn't look "too" bad, he couldn't open his doors, so I think the frame is twisted. But it was a 2001 Intrepid off the lot. Felt bad, but then some of the family members had to be held back because my friend started laughing Its funny now that I think about it, because she got out of another car and was going "Jesus christ, NOOOOOOO!" and my friend thought that was funny.. Lost 4 points, but I think I already had 9, but they must have been over 2 years ago and some are gone now.

I've only been in one serious accident during my life (knock on wood). It was back in my home town (pop +- 800) and this idiot swerved like he was going to turn right, then pulled a U-turn on main street right in front of me. I tried to swerve to the left but ended up hitting his front wheel well HARD. He was just about killing himself laughing about the accident and I wanted to throttle him. He had been fishing and drinking down at the river with my older brother earlier that afternoon and was pretty drunk. Unfortunately, it took the local RCMP over an hour to make it to the accident(the cops wife was using the police phone line to talk to a friend and I couldn't get through on the phone). Anyways, to make things even worse, by the time the cop got down there, the kid was more or less sobered up, and the cop played "Lets make a deal" with the kid, who told the cop who broke into the Liquor store in town, and let him off the hook for driving while under the influence. Sooo, the kid got off scott free and I was stuck wrecking my Mom's car. BTW, I beat the crap out of the guy at a bush party the next weekend
HEre in Saskatchewan they recently started that graduated licence program where you are on probation for a year or 2. I think it's a good idea. But once your graduated you have to be one h*ll of a terrible driver to lose it. I'm talking 25 points or more.
You see here, your car insurance isn't affected by how bad a driver you are. It's based on the type and age of vehicle. The cost of renewing your drivers license every year goes up when you get points. One accident will cost you $100, three accidents within 3 years will only cost you $800 to renew your license. ANd I know people who have to pay $3000+ to renew theirs...lol!!
The gov't has also tightened up the DUI laws but it's still pretty slack. I think you should only be allowed 1 lifetime DUI. A second and you walk forever. Here, you can get a DUI every 5 years and still only receive the minimum penalty-6 months of walking and $500 fine.
