it is not quite spring yet... but you know how busy we get in March/April/May... kicking off the busy time off is the NTFC Spring Fun Run.
This is an open invite event for all car enthusiasts. We will meet at our good old standby... the Cracker Barrel off of I-20 and Winscott at 1000. Plan on leaving the CB at 1030. We will drive backroads to Acton (near Granbury) to sample the fine delicacies offered by..., The Rib Shack. This is a new food destination for us, so I guess we will see if it lives up to the same excellence we have shared on other cruises. http://www.ribshacktx.com/
After lunch, we will take a leisurely roll to Glen Rose. Park on the town square. Read the monuments. Check out the petrified wood buildings. Wait... you know me... this stop too is about food. We are going to Glen Rose for dessert. Order some slices from Texas Country Reporters top local dessert shop... the Pie Peddlers. http://piepeddlers.com/
From Glen Rose, we will run up the Paluxy Highway and then head up our old friend... Bakers Crossing Rd... this time coming from the south... so it will seem like a new road, right? We will say farewell to the Spring Fun Run in Granbury and look forward to the Fall Fun Run on the second Saturday of November.
Gas station is right next to Cracker Barrel to top off the tank! Hope you all can make it!

Stu, the Fling is in the vicinity of Texoma, more than likely Dennison area. I am working on itenerary right now... but I figured that you know the date, and the destination is North of the metroplex, and that we would have to leave in the morning to make lunch... that that would be enough.
It was only last weekend I could traipsy up there and try to find us something to do.
So I will post details as soon as I mock up an itenerary and talk to Jim Holland.

Regrettable DARKWING and/or I will not be attending the “Fun Run” this year. We are working to have everything a go for “Spring Fling” and Round-Up. If for some unseen reason the DARKWING isn’t road worthy, I am planning on attending these anyway. Smart or PT Cruiser come on down. Might hitch a ride with fierosmith.

I can`t make the Fun Run either but I will be at Spring Fling. For once, I won`t have to make such a long trip on Saturday morning as I will already be in Dallas.

Hmmm.... Will I still need my FSR since we'll be the only two there and will be riding together?

Mike please don’t feel bad. I have been driving the Solstice Coupe to Fiero events for a few years now.
At least I won’t have to drive as far soon… coming home to Texas!!!

BlackThunderGT………thanks. We always like to see your Solstice, not that many hardtops. It is a nice vehicle and well maintained. Coming home, that’s great. Do you know where you are going to land yet? Sorry about your Fiero woes. I followed it and know your frustration. DARKWING Mike Parker

Thank you to those that came out on Saturday to enjoy BBQ, dessert, and great roads.
The day started out wet, but rain stopped about 30 minutes into the cruise... and the roads dried out after lunch which allowed for some spirited driving in the sunshine!
The after party was great too!... full of fire, beer, stogies, and pizza!
Look forward to the 2013 Fall Fun Run edition in November!

Yeah, it was a little better on the drive home but still a little off. Glad the weather cleared up for the cruise or else I would have been white knuckling it the whole way. I had a blast as always.
