I have an 87' 4 cylinder 5 speed car with a decent interior and an 88' 3800 swap that has a horrible interior. I originally thought I would sell the 87' to finance the work on the 88' but lately I have thought that I would swap interiors. I figure I will get about the same $$ for the 87' whether it has a good interior or a bad one. Unfortunatley that seems to be the state of Fiero's right now. The 87' has the grey interior and the 88' has the beechwood. What would you do?
The Georgia sun and heat have baked the beechwood interior. It would need to be replaced. The dash, console and everything is warped and split. If I could find a complete beechwood interior locally I would just replace it all and sell the other Fiero. It is a one year only Bright Blue Metallic car.

Keep the 88 beechwood! You can still find good interiors in yards up here in the north country......it may take a while to get all the right pieces, but it's worth the effort. The cars up here are rusted away, but the interiors are in much better shape.

Swapping interiors is quite easy. Dash removal is pretty simple. If you like the better interior, I'd swap it. I put a tan interior into my 87GT because (a) I liked the tan better and (b) the grey was sunbaked.

A complete beechwood interior in nice condition is going to be worth more than the car. Unless you just happen to get lucky and find one in the yard in good shape and the yard doesn't realize what they have.
In new condition beechwood is nice. When it ages it takes on a pukey orange tint that is not very attractive to me.

I happen to have two spare Beechwood dashes in my basement.
