OK, this has probably been asked before but I dont see it.

1) I was told that you must run staggered wheel/tires on an 88. Is this correct?

2) In regards to after market wheels, what options are there? What is the Hub bore?

3) In regards to tires, what sizes can I run on the front and on the back on a completely stock car?

Thanks in advance.

Also, lets see some pics of 88GTs with aftermarket wheels. All sizes welcomed.

You've seen the other thread, so I won't repost all my pics.

The 88 doesn't have to have staggered wheels. The base coupe has the same size wheels and tires on all 4 corners.
But it looks and works better if they are staggered.

My favorite fit for an 88 is:
17x7 / 40-48mm offset for the front. 215/45-17
17x8 / 35mm offset for the rear. 235/45-17

Our centerbore is 57.1 mm. Most aftermarket wheels come with a 70-something centerbore, and use hub-centric rings to space them down.

The most effective search to find 88 wheels is a Volkswagen New Beetle for the rears, and a Subaru Impreza for the fronts. Be careful. Some of the "Subaru-specific" wheels come with a 56.1 mm centerbore, and will have to be enlarged to fit our cars.
(As I understand it, Rally rules prohibit hub-centric rings. At least that's what the guy at Discount Tire told me. Hence the brand specific bore.)

The trick is finding the same wheel for both applications. They're not real common.

Having said all that, I really like the Enkei Falcons that were posted in the other thread.

These are what I just bought for my car. Nice to see them on a Fiero so I can get a picture of how mine will look with them on.
