I am somewhat tardy on the monthly meeting reminder. The monthly club meeting is Feb 25th at Pappas BBQ off the NW Highway. Meet times are approximately 1100 to whenever people feel like leaving after lunch. The weather looks like it will be very pleasant. If you try to clean the old girl up over the next couple of days… that may prove to be an exercise in futility as the wind is supposed to be sustained 20mph. I got mine washed yesterday (it was only blowing about 15mph!) after all those weeks of rain and saturated foggy mornings and the car was filthy. I hate it when you get a glob of grease on your sponge and then wind up smearing said grease all over the panel.
At the Jan meeting, I showed a couple of armrest restoration ideas. You guys put me back in presidency for another term. We met a new Fiero owner from Weatherford. After the meeting, several of us went back to Tom’s place for a mod day. I learned how to rebuild gen II headlight motors with the careful eyes and input from Stu and Tim. Tom just stood around and watched Poe’s backside.
For the February meeting, we will discuss Spring Fling VII, it was suggested to do a joint venture with our friends up in Oklahoma, so I have made some inquiries that direction. Our good friend Dave (2farnorth on PFF) had a seriously close encounter with a cow early one morning and lost his ’85. It could have been so much worse. Dave, I hope all your injuries and soreness heal up quickly. Thank goodness you were in a sunroof car. Here is a link with some pics: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/088286.html
If any members ever want to show off mods, repairs, tips, tricks, or upgrades and want to show the club, please feel free to take the floor. Hope to see you there!

Don't forget to drop a line to Mike Parker and see if he can make it. He may still be getting settled in but then again he might need a break from all of that. One of these Days Becca and I will crash a meeting with NTFC.

I should be able to make the meeting. May have to leave early if I get scheduled to work that pm. Will be the first time driving a Fiero since my accident but it will be daylight and those black angus are easier to see then.

Thanks to those that came out... and welcome to a couple of new guys! Jim in a silver 87GT from Michigan and local Robert in a red 86GT.
If you did not show up, here is what you missed:
me spilling a full coke on the table and ground (really... that was the highlight of the club meeting) A demonstration of the pulley expander tool: http://fierosails.com/belt.html plug for cheap synthetic oil from QS rebate: http://www.quakerstatewarranty.com/optout/ (rumor has it that Wal-Mart has the cheapest price on QS products)
Also... Spring Fling VII will be the 4th Saturday of March, and we will take a run up North to hold it in conjunction with our Okie friends as a picnic at Lake Murray. I plugged AER show the first weekend in May. I plugged the PSN, which will be in June and includes drag racing. Anthony will try to get us invited to an auto enthusiasts private collection of about 27 Indy pace cars.

Blake, do you know yet approximately when you guys would be leaving for Lake Murray Saturday morning for Spring Fling VII ? I may just stay up and leave when I get home Friday night from my band playing. Oh well, as Sam Elliott says in Roadhouse "I`ll get plenty of sleep when I`m dead" Mike

Mike, I will talk to Tom Myers, and try to nail down a schedule and plan.
Just thinking off hand though... I imagine we would probably meet a bit North of Denton around 0900-1000... the drive to Lake Murray is only about an hour if traffic on 35 is cooperating. If we have a late lunch style picnic... then maybe those times would scoot back a bit. I imagine after lunch and the flinging of the Spring... we will find some nice roads to occupy our time, though it may be very similar to what we used in Ruckus 9.

I may be in trouble with this event but I will try on the 24th. See you all there. BTW, the guys in FCO didn't exactly vote to keep me as president for this year but they also refused to allow me to abdicate or resign from the office.
