Hi, My name is Dan and I'm new here. I bought my fiero in October of last year. It's an 85 SE, 4 spd 2.8L car with 148,000 miles. I paid $600 for it, expecting a beater for going to school and back. What i got was a car that's virtually rust free. I put it in the garage the day after i drove it home with the intention of just "freshening it up" with a few things to make it nice and reliable. It's still there though, all this time later, with custom guages, a fastback rear clip sitting on it, the cradle dropped and engine out, with all the proper parts for a V8 swap sitting on a shelf. I've been lucky enough to meet some great Fiero people nearby, collect some hard to find parts, and get started on a great project. So I guess I'm one of you now, lol. I look forward to alot of good times with my Fiero and great advice from you fine people.
Regards, Dan

And may your heart be filled with such joy, at seeing your creation live.

I usually tell people that if they don't get the "obsession" comment to hang around and they will. In your case, it sounds like you've got it nailed. A "freshen up" consisting of a fastback clip and a V8 swap?! Yep. You've got it.
Again... Welcome!

In another year, you'll be penniless, divorced, hated by your dog and whispered about by all your neighbors, and suspected of something vile by the local police---just like all the rest of us.
welcome.

Wow, so many quick replies to make me feel welcomed....Thank you. Lets see, where to start... Raydar, I've seen some of these build threads.....and I literally drool, so I'd say obsessed is on the money. Fieroguy, I can spelling just fine, I just don't speech too good. MaryJane, I somehow don't entirely doubt that.
And by popular demand, the pics of the car.
The day I got her.
A few days after I got her. I did wirewheel and paint the floorboards and whatnot before putting her back together. there wasnt much rust at all, mostly just peeling paint and gunk from carpet padding.
And a few weeks later I had her put back together. I painted it black, just primer and basecoat, for a rat rod look. the real bodywork will come one day far from now.
The interior. The guages are autometer sport comp and the console I made out of stainless scrap from a wendy's deep fryer + some random stuff I had laying around.
Everything is still just mocked up here, the stereo, vents and climate controls have been mounted since. The seats are el cheapo racing seats, but I have the original ones and will recover them.
Then I got a fastback clip, decklid, trim, bumper, and wing by chance on craigslist from Doug at FieroWarehouse. I'm sure he's on here, but I havent found him yet, so thanks Doug!
And a pic of when I dropped the cradle. A note here, my trunk pan was dented and rusted out. this was the only place on the entire car with an issue, and I removed the bottom portion of the pan. I was hoping for a little more breathing room for a dual exhaust. When the rear bumper is removed, it also allows tons of clearance for the engine to be removed.

Welcome! I have to agree with the above statement. I belong to many other forums (mostly those of the two wheeled persuasion) and without a doubt this is the best forum by FAR! So relax, take off your jacket and stay a while. Keep us posted with updates ( we love updates that lead to a finished product) and if you have questions just ask. The members on this forum are so helpful with there generosity and comradery, that you will be hard pressed to ask a question that has no answer.

Thanks everyone for the big welcome. I plan to start a build thread in a few days, when my shop is cleaned up and I can get some fresh pictures to show exactly where I'm at and what I have done so far, and have planned from here on out.
