Is the trunk carpet really necessary or can I drive without it? Anyone drive a fiero without it installed?

You can drive without it with no problem. As long as the trunk isn't rotten with holes everything should be fine.

Has anyone tried truck bed liner? It would at least be impervious to mold, etc... Just a thought I had for my own trunk. Thanks!!! Josh

No carpet in my XTC - don't haul anything in there anyway - got the battery mounted in the well. No carpet in my 86 V8 Coupe either - both are lined with spray on bed liner material.

Alright I took my carpet out and I guess I have a rust hole about the size of two quarters (not surprising), but it can be fixed. I want to make the trunk area look decent without the carpet. Has anyone cleaned off the white body sealant stuff or should that stuff be left alone? Thanks

I dont have a carpet, or a trunk to put the carpet in.. So I'm pretty sure you're "safe" without it

You could also use "trunk paint" to finish it out like they used to on cars from the 60's and 70's. That would give it a nice look.
