Man be careful with that car up like that with the front on those jackstands.....Could end in a front end crash to the ground....I always leave the front wheels on with them on the ground.....
Well tomorrow is the day. It has been a long time comming but good things come to those who wait, right? I will trek down (over) to Homer MI to pick up my formula tomorrow. So I will be driving a total of 9 hours tomorrow, god I have a great wife. My car has been totally redone. New poly all the way around, new shocks. Oh and a new engine....lol. SO if you see my little formula pass you by just smile and wave.

Well the car made it home perfectly. All I can say is Joe did a great job on the car. Car runs great rides great and straight. The next fiero I will send to Joe for a 3800 swap. I will post pics tomorrow as I am beat after having driven for 9 hours today and only arguing with the wife for 5 minutes.
Funny, this is the first time I've seen this thread!
Not to worry about a front end crash, on the 88's there is a hole in the front crossmember that locks the jackstand head, and the rear of the car is supported all the way across with a 4x4. The car would have to get to a 60 degree angle before it would slide at all. It looks a lot worse than it is - the setup is stable as all getout.
Thanks for your patience on the schedule, Bobby, I hope it was worth the wait.

Here is the finished product. Exactly what I was looking for. Clean install no birds nest of a wiring harness. Absolutely perfect. Joe does great work.
Seems like anymore the only thing I do is upgrade people's Fieros, whatever they need done, I can do.
Andreeas, the Fiero engine bay was originally designed for a transverse aluminum V-8. If you look at GM's engine line-up for the early 80's, the only engine fitting that description is the 4.1L Cadillac, which evolved to the 4.5L and then the 4.9L, which is what is in BOBBY D's car, along with the 4T60-E 4 speed automatic transmission, which I had rechained and regeared to a 35/35 drive and a 3.33 final drive. With stickpony's chip in the PCM, Bob's car gets right with the program. And, even though some 3800SC cars may be faster, the 4.9 just plain honks off the line, AND has the nice rumble of a V-8.
I also have a 4.9/4T60-E in my Formula, Bobby's and my car are pretty much the same mechanically.
And, on the highway I can pull about 32 MPG with tha A/C blowing cold, the stereo cranked, and the cruise set on 80.

Gotta love it.
I really should have regeared my 4T60e as well, I'm still kicking myself for not changing it while it was out, as I'm still stuck with the 2.73 final drive.

just passsed my e-check (emissions testing) with flying colors. The guys tried to argue with each other about where the cat was. Each one claiming to have owned one before, one a 4cyl and the other a 6cly. SO I had to open the trunk to show them the cat. lol. They both said they could never afford the v8 version of the car. It was the cleanest one they have seen in a long time.

Wow! That's just clean as a pin! Nice job. Very nice indeed.
Bobby, I know you're thrilled with it. Especially with the 3.33 gears. Mine worked out to 2.97, IIRC. Still wasn't a slouch. ------------------ Raydar 88 Formula IMSA Fastback. 4.9, NVG T550 Praise the Lowered!
