i was looking for a long time and finnaly found some used glass that was good. but safelight said they could get it from what they told me but they wanted like 800 dollars for both sides, and that was a custom order.
The spanish guy I talked to in TX has an add on ebay for the drivers door side glass at $66. He told me he could get both sides for $132 but it takes 2-3 months as the glass comes from China. LOF is the only remaining american glass maker.
Yep. Door glass has become extinct. After months of searching, I bought a pair from two different sources about two years ago. One source said it was the last driver's side door glass in North America, and the other source said it was the second to last passenger door glass in North America. Best to look for good used glass and keep your dew wipes and window stabilizers ultra clean from this point on.
This is the guy I was talking about above. The glass comes from China in 2-3 months. I'm guessing you have to pay in advance, so do you want to risk that with China involved?

I just bought the drivers & passenger door glass from a local glass place a few weeks ago. I got them from "Bob's Auto Glass" just a 1/4 mile down the road from my house here in West Palm Beach, FL. I walked in, told her what I needed, she looked it up, gave me the price, I paid for it, and went back the next day to pick them up. They are manufactured by PPG, here is a photo of the glass and the cardboard sleeve they came in:
They may be betting hard to find, but this shows that they are still out there to be had......

I paid $189 each, which is the installed price including the labor time to install the DIYStu dew wipes, new window motors and new door lock cylinders as well.
(Is that what you were hinting at?)

Well the place that I got it from has been in business for over 30 years, and and I have had a couple of windshields replace there, as well as a window motor in my Jag. She commented that a friend of hers had a Fiero and loved it, so she 100% for sure knew what she was ordering for me. As for fitment, I will not know till I schedule the time to install it, but I honestly can't imagine they gave me the wrong glass. I bought the glass and paid for labor like I said above, but picked up the glass to hold it here until I am ready to have it done. I am going to have the car painted before I have it installed, to rule out any chance of over spray and such on the new dew wipes. Then, I just give them a call, and they will come here to the house to install them and the locks, motors ect.

The best part of that video is when the window just falls into the door LOL.
I have a much better way of breaking windows, do it all the time at pullapart. It's very easy for me when the window is down almost all the way, and I smack the top edge of the window with the end of my breaker bar. It then explodes into pieces inside the door. Why the breaker bar works so well, I don't know, a tire iron doesn't work nearly as well for some reason.
Also evidence you can still get your hand sliced from tempered glass.
