Turns out I need to replace some front end components I hadn't originally planned on, FieroStore lowering springs are definitely in the plan. I am now considering some additional drop with Rodney's balljoints since the 88 sits kind of high in the front anyway.

does anyone have pictures of such a combination, lowering springs with either the 1/2 or 1 inch lowering joints?

I lowered the front of my 88 Mera with 1 inch lowering ball joints. I tried it also with a stock front spring with one coil removed. It was too low, and the car did not ride well so I installed the stock height springs again and I am very happy with the look. No pics yet, but the Mera wheel opening is larger than the fiero one. I can't say it would look similar to a stock GT with the lowering ball joint.

You might be ok with the 1/2 in lowering ball joint and shorter spring.

Formula with 1 inch Rodney's Balljoints. Rear is adjustable coil-over and have been lowered since that picture,

Rodney did not recommand to go lower with his balljoints installed.

Thanks for everyone's input

Now I have a much better idea of what I'll be looking at with my setup.

Edit: Just remembered a related note, how much, if at all, should I be trimming down the bumpstops?

I have a HTMotorsports drop suspension kit with their 1"drop spindles. I'm sure it'll be close to Rodneys. I like rodney's quality. I have several things from him like the stainless vacuum set and the adjustable dog bone.

I don't think the picture came through. Here's the link and I'll fix it later

That's a good shot PK! You should look into removing those decals, maybe add a black stock Formula decal. Just an opinion.

funny you should mention the formula on the side... that is actuley not a decal. when the car was painted a stencle was put over a part of the original paint job and painted over leaving the Formula in red on it.. its a bit of an abstract torn appart font and up close it looks pretty cool. the other one is a JM fab decal which also looks pretty cool in person.

I should add more.... adds 5 horse power

Do your front tires touch on large bumps? When my Mera was that low I could not clear most speed bumps so I just stayed with the 1 in. lowering ball joint only.
