Thinking about a 3800 swap. Not now, but many years down the road when budget allows, I would like to add a turbo charger to it.

Question is, which engine would mate with a turbo better in the future? a 3800, or a 3800sc? Series I, II, III, etc... What year, make model, of car to pull it from, etc... I'm looking for an easy swap now, with the best "upgradability" in the future.

If turbo is involved get the SC version and convert the intake system back to N/A. all the seals rings and internals are all ready for boost in it.

It really doesn't matter, they're all about as upgradeable as the next in that family.

Don't convert it to na intake until you're ready to boost or it'll screw with tuning it due to the lower compression.

One of the greatest proponents of throwing turbos on N/A 3800s just demolished his engine. He absolutely destroyed a con rod and piston. I would go 3800SC, then turbo it later. Better safe than sorry.
