Welcome to the forum and prepare yourself for the Fiero Addiction! LOL! You can post a pic, but you need a host site like photobucket then you need to get the photo URL then put at the end of the image URL.
Thanks guys for the quick responses. I paid 7K for the car. I am a BMW guy.. i have a '72 2002 tii that i have recently completed restoration.. and unfortunately turned it into a garage queen.. bummer. So I traded a bmw 318ti for this Fiero now that I have retired and no longer need a daily driver for 90 miles a day and 32 mpg. Wanted to get a collectable that would be a daily driver and was watching this Fiero for several months. The price dropped and dropped and I jumped on it. What a fun car to drive. I have a few things to do to it, like alarm, stereo, bilsteins, etc. It is all stock except for the ocelot exhaust (sounds great) and the 17" wheels and tires. Glad to join the Fiero madness.

Hey Greg, welcome to the addiction, I am pretty new here as well but not new to the Fiero world, bought my 1st one from the dealer in 87 and still love them today. You picked the right place to go coming here, the guys are excellent, they are more than helpfull and if there is an issue you have that someone on here cant figure out I would be surprised. Hope everything works out with the car and cant wait to see pictures. Doug

I spend time on bmw2002FAQ with my 02.. so I'm very happy to find you guys. My car failed smog check in California so I'm in for a new catalic converter just to get it to pass smog. Once I can get it registered, I'm off to the stereo shop for a new stereo and a new alarm (with keyless entry option) and then off to the shop for new shocks. What do you guys recommend. I'm looking at a set of Bilsteins but open to suggestions.
Thx... Greg

Hey Greg, if I were you I would do a search (link is on the upper right corner of the page) and just type in shocks and you will get a lot of info on what shocks people here use and their reasons for each. No shock is going to make everyone happy, driving style, comfort etc will be a big decider and these issues are discussed in a number of posts. Hope that was a bit of a help

Welcome to the best Fiero forum out there. To post a picture, DONT use photobucket. click the red/blue box at the bottom of the page and download the PIP, follow the directions. if you use photobucket or the like, your pictures will not last very long and will turn into a red X (very annoying!) here's a link explaining how simple it is to do.... https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/078788.html

Welcome to the family of Fiero fanatics! This group is outstanding to assist you with anything you may need or need to know about anything Fiero. I'm still pretty new to the site as well, but have had the infection since the cars came out. I'm on my forth car now...still searching for the perfect 88 yellow formula...the hunt is fun!

I would have loved yellow as it would match (sort of) my yellow 2002. But white is always a favorite of mine.
Are non-spoiler motor covers available ? I removed the spoiler (is that a No No ?) but now I have 4 holes and some discoloring where the brackets were.

Welcome to the Forum and our shared addiction. Please give my condolences to your family and friends. You'll be spending a lot less quality time with them, now that you own a Fiero. Just be sure to drive slowly enough so they can recognize you, wave and shout compliments about your car. You'll love it!

I have owned three 88 GT 5-speeds. The first was white. the second a factory yellow, and the current one is a red Mera assembled on a loaded 88 GT chassis. You will find that you get very attached to these little cars. While they may not be the fastest things out there. They make an incredible exhaust note, and are a hoot to drive.

You could certainly remove the spoiler; its not a no-no unless you're doing a perfect factory restoration (which I'm assuming you're not, since you have custom wheels).
I was in the same boat as you; I hated the spoiler on mine (which in all honesty was a bad aftermarket spoiler which looked like the factory wing but the bolt holes were in the wrong place). One day I found a perfect wingless decklid in the junkyard (same color as mine!) and made the swap. I like how it looks.

Use the image poster below; the red, white and blue rectangle.....it's easy to install, easy to use and the pictures become part of your post and not just a link. Just click on it and follow the directions. Way better than any of the image hosting web sites and the pictures will be available to us all.

There were some Fiero's that came from the factory with the "Spoiler Delete" Option, it looks good, but I like the factory spoiler more personally. You can find the decklids to the spoilerless Fieros sometimes, but they are kinda hard to find. There are quiet a few of the spoilerless Fieros on the forum, some factory and some are intensionally done. If you decide to keep the spoiler off, I would fill in the holes on the decklid so you don't get the trunk wet or have any unwanted leaks.
I would keep the decklid exactly as is and find another, spoiler or not. Do the work on that one and then you will always have the original. You could change the deck to suit your mood!

Had to get a new catalytic converter to pass smog in Calif. Had a new stereo, 4 speakers, new alarm with keyless entry intstalled. Had new shocks installed all the way around. Ordered $300 work of stuff from Fiero Store.
Once my service manual arrives I will acquire the necessary parts to do a full tuneup, and replace the broken temp gauge and headlight retainers.
BTW, I received the original wheels from the original owner, but I really like the after market 17" he put on it.

greg2002, Just wanted to say that your white GT is gorgeous. Love the wheels, too. I'd keep the spoiler. The fastbacks look unbalanced aesthetically without them, IMHO. Notchbacks can go either way. I'm a new, first-time Fiero guy too (bought it on Jan. 7th) and I'm really having fun with it. Mine is just a base model, but it's got a 4.9L V8. rumble rumble rumble...
