Yesterday was a long day, after getting a new work computer installed which takes the IT dept. all day to get things right, I was ready to get home to my doggies that have been coop up while I was away. I go out to my Fiero, turn the key lots of cranking but not starting. I could hear the fuel pump kick on and could smell fuel when I open the decklid, I check all the plug wires in case any came loose. I was dead in the water at a company where it’s almost as tough to get onto as it to get into blakeinspace's gated community. I proceeded to call blakeinspace (plus he’s the closes person to my location) and ask for his expert opinion, he ask a few questions like why am I calling him, he’s too busy for us minions. Okay I made that last part up, anyway he said it’s either the coil or ICM and did I check for spark. Kind of hard to do when you’re the only person there. He said I can come and bring some parts to see if we can get it running but it would have to be after dark (I guess he must be part vampire, oh that’s why he’s so pasty white). I give him directions to my location and tell him that he will need to provide ID and probably submit to a body cavity search (which I know he wouldn’t mind, because he’s gay ). After about 10 minutes we had the car running, switched out the ICM. Then came the lecture on how could you leave the house in your Fiero without the First-Aid kit (ICM, Coil, Tools). Next time I’m calling AAA.
Blake – A big thank you for helping a fellow Fiero owner, guess I’ll have to change that ‘-‘ to ‘+’.
