I was looking over a old thread, and it was a new member talking about seeing a coupe with a GT rear clip. Some folks posted pics but the thread died off.
So, I was wondering, how many of us have and/or like the look of the coupe with a GT rear clip?
If you have one, post pics.
I will start, here is mine.

Raydar's car IMHO is one of the most beautiful Fieros I have ever seen. I have always disliked the GT nose, which is why I am using Amida's 512 nose. I have always liked the look of the Formula nose, the bumperpad/fastback combo looks surprisingly similar to the BMW M1 (a classic and one of my favorites)

Whoa! Thanks!
I was pleasantly surprised to see it here.
Thanks for the mention, Fiero 84. My car actually started out as a Formula.
Edit - Here's the donor...
I added the rear clip, tail lights and Doug's scoops. Other than those, all of the body panels and the bumper covers are stock Formula.

I'll make you a deal. .....I'll trade you my fastback for your formula, and have at it! I shed a tear at the loss of every formula (my fav fiero model, and so few left).
...Nice cars guys.

Sweet ride. Like the Beretta wheels. Do you know what the offset is?
Thanks for the comments. They are 42mm offset. Fit great on the front of the 88, but in the rear, I think they are a little too far in. Im going to be running a 5 or 10mm spacer soon. I have new hubs with longer studs, and an aluminum spacer. I have the 10mm spacer and Im going to try it first.

Sorry Will... They're CSA Mullins Gladiators. Made in AU. Sold by Tire Trends in BC. They're identical to Mille Miglia Evos except that they don't have the fake rivets on the "flanges" where the spokes meet the rims.
I happened to stumble backwards into these, while trying to find something that would suit the odd offsets that the 88s like. (17x7 - 48mm, and 17x8 - 35mm.) Didn't purposely go to that much trouble to seek these out.

I have searched for Mille Miglia Spider for months but I could never find any place in North America that still sells them. I think Tire Rack was the exclusive dealer in N. A. for them.
Yours look similar to the Eagle 192
The only issue I have with the Eagles is that they are only available in 17 x 7 (ironically Eagle is based here in KC)
Your rims a killer, IIRC they are no longer available are they?

Thanks for the compliment. I purchased the hood vent from a vendor here on PFF. They are glassed in to the original hood and allow air from the radiator to flow out freely. It did not have an affect on the front spare tire area. That area is still sealed.

I don't think they're available any more. At least not easily. I've had mine for 3-4 years. Check out Sport Edition wheels. (Tire Rack.) They had some that appeared to be identical to the Mille Miglias EVOs. The model is KV5. Only available in 18x8, though. I don't recall if you've got an 88 or not, but otherwise, anything that will fit a VW New Beetle should fit a Fiero perfectly.
Edit - They have some Sport Editions and some Enkeis that looked like the Eagles.

Last I heard, Jon was getting out of the Fiero business. I'm not sure if he's got any stock left or not. I would contact him to make sure before making any purchases.

Shoot. I hope he's still got some when I've got the $$ to buy one, looks like a really nice product.
Some great looking coupes. What do you guys "classify" your car's. For the GM Nat's I put myself in "Modified Notchback" . It did start life as one. I also like calling it a "Hybrid". Lots of people I meet at shows just call it a "GT", but they look at it and you can see their brain is working. (hummmm)

qwikgta, I just rated to to see if your bar would show up.... it didn't. It's a shame veterans of the forum don't all have a gleaming green bar!
Nice car by the way. Did you take enough time doing it?
nobody likes me either, I don't have a bar either way and have been here a lot longer than most people...not that I post a lot or anything of use...just have no color to my name...lol
And in response to qwikgta...I call mine a hybrid...like you, people call mine a GT and it's only because the sail panels have those two little letters on them...other than that you would no know which year or model my car was. And so everyone knows, mine started out as an 84 SE. Find the three remaining body pieces from 84 on it.

Probably not, at this pace )

SCCA and Iwanna, Thanks guys. Yea we have been here a long time. I always wondered if anyone ever gave me a + or - rating. I have handed out a few of each. I guess I just don't have the comments that either piss people off or make them happy. But im cool with that. This is my home page and I can say that other than being deployed (US Navy) I am on here everytime i log into a computer. I love reading all the posts.
I love both your rides. Great ideas.
SCCA.... your pic looks like my twin before I painted it. I also love the rims and the luggage rack.
Iwanna... Love the blue, the scoops (all) and the whale tail. I always wanted to see what it would look like on my car, now I know. Great look. (you too Raydar, I love your ride as well)
I went with the smoke black side windows, without the "GT". I need to tint the windows next and then work on RIMS. Next big purchase is RIMS.
I love the fact that I was looking for anyone who had done the GT clip on a coupe and three of us have TTOPS as well.
Cheers.

how many of these started out as a gt? can you just take off the "ground effects" or what ever the things are by the bottom that stick out. Also it seems like there are two different types of coupe bumpers is that just the difference between a formula and a regular coupe?

Been down this road, and am considering going back, we will see.
Started life as a base coupe ttop car, with only option being aftermarket cruise.
Then Fastback swap at the same time as the 3800sc series 3 auto swap, and some wheels.
Then full GT body swap with matching colored clip, also got a full power interior upgrade, 12" rotors, a 5 speed conversion, 5x112 bolt pattern conversion, and new wheels...
Then sadly rear ended.
Which lead to a repaint.
I do have another 88 coupe sitting in the garage that is missing 90% of the body and interior, and 50% of the suspension, and I have a fast back just asking to go somewhere....

Looks better in white ! Still a shame it was rear-ended. Paint those wheels white ? I see a Grand Prix behind that notchie.
Edit just to say: got Poncho love.
