Hey to the guy who made a comment about the head. I have 160,000 on my original engine. This summer I had a head gasket let go, but replaced it and the engine is back running adding miles to the odo.

Been some time but my 84 se 4 speed was purchased for my 16th b-day with the original trans and engine at 100,000 miles. Sold her in 2000 due to a rod knock at 376,259 miles. Only changed timing gears once and clutch once. Wish I still had pics but somewhere along the years they have gotten put up or thrown away.

Absolutely no idea. Got it (84SE) from the previous owner ~8 years ago. The speedo showed 149k miles on it but the previous owner said the speedo had quit working 3 years before that. He also used it as a daily driver. I've added at least 50k miles to it over the years but also never fixed the speedo. If I had to guess I'd bet its close to 250k. Nobody will ever know for sure... er, I mean it still has 149k on it.

Daily driver currently has 217,XXX miles on original motor... Thinking about continuing to use this car as a daily driver w/an engine rebuild whenever the time comes - so far, she keeps on going and going.... - kv

my first car was an 88 pontiac 6000 with a duke. had 86k on it. this was back in 00. searching for performance things for that engine led me to fieros as did my friend patrick with an 86 and an 87 GT. loved them ever since i first saw one.

There was one at carlisle 07 with 317,000 and it purred. I sold mine at 130,000 and that purred. Another forum member who barely shows up here has one with over 200k and still strong.
My indy's duke has according to the odometer 110k, but the odometer was broken by a previous owner sometime in the past probably late 90s early 0s, so it probably is around 120k. Another previous owner blew the engine in 96, so it has a Jasper (meh) rebuilt. So honestly its a mystery on how many miles are on the actual engine. But the odometer is fixed as is the Skippy speedo needle.
Mine had over 160,000 before I sold it, and that used to beat my buddy's V6 GMC sonoma. Think it was a tech 4 but I dont know what motor work was done to it before I bought it.

Ahhh....white car. That makes more sense. Here's the next pic.
Does anyone in Minnesota remember this car that was used as a teaching tool in a Tech School near Wilmar,MN or Brianerd,MN from 1987-2002 I still own it with 79 actual miles on it. I would like to hear some history on it... Thanks Ed

You're fastback doesn't have a 4-cylinder in it does it? That'd be kinda a shocker of an engine swap! Either way, 80,000 isn't so bad as long as its been maintained decent.
Cool to see female MN Fiero owner posting of PFF btw.

Thanks! and noooo it's not a 4-cyl. It's just sad to see the miles adding up on it. I'll probably cry when it hits 100k
Burly sold my 87' Fiero with 246,20X miles and still going... But it did have one minor but annoying problem... It would leave oil spots all over driveway( it had no actual oil pan gasket)
It no longer spinned the tires at will, i was using 10-40w but i still kept up with my cousins 98 Honda civic hatchback non-vtec 1.6L, 5-speed with CAI, 4-2-1 header with deleted Cat ... Well after i shifted to 4th he just left me. But it really got to him
He had launched hard and was hopping/Spinning the tires, while i just launched like i always do. shifted right on 4k rpm... Sorry went way off topic.
Very good engine, don't know why people bash on it. My cousin revved that poor engine to 6k rpm one time when i let him use it, i often hit a little over 5k rpm when i would slide it around. But, i would maintain it religously and it never let me down... Never... Dam, i hate myself... I want it back, burly sold 1 and half week and i want it back.
Last known pic, i have of it. :P
The marks on the front bumper are from all the SOHC non-vtec Honda's it's eaten... Okay so i would hit the mail box once time... Man, those bumpers are strong The 1st car i bought with my own money, Still has a place in my heart.

I know what you mean, once I did such an emergency stop that I pushed all three pedals to the floor, I'm guessing the revs were pegged. Smelled like carbon for a while, no probs

My old 88 Duke had a little over 180,000 when I sold it just over a year ago. It only had about 80,000 when I bought it originally. And it was still running when I sold the car mot of the work needed on the car was suspension related if I remember right.

Mine hit about 145k before it went belly up (30PSI comp across all 4). Ran if I held the gas down, but wouldn't run any other way.
Currently working in overhauling my extra Duke in the garage (Note to others: Just do a swap, unless you have the time! I'm about $300 into the rebuild, not including the engine, and I still have to bore the cylinders .010, and turn the crank .010, plus get all new rings/gaskets,etc).
By the time I'm done, I expect to have put in $2k, including engine cost ($600 alone for that, since I couldn't find a Duke in my city, and couldnt drive to Phoenix). Bright side is that I will pretty much have a brand new engine then! Just wish I had the $ and know how to do a 4T60-E swap, to boost the fuel economy.
