New PFF member but not new to the Fiero. Anyway I was checking out the WestCoast Fiero site and stumbled upon this.................

http://www.compnine.com/vid.php

Ran the VIN on my junkyard save and found that the steering colum has been replaced at some point but everything else is there! It's an '86 SE auto, and from what I can tell it has *most* if not all options.

Anyone think the $300 I paid was too much? LOL

Nice save. I opened the first pick and thought "is that nose to nose with a VW Golf or Jetta?". Then I opened the second pic and thought "Yup!".

I just tried mine: 1G2PG9791GP276888
(1986 Fastback GT)

It reports:

Nothing found for VIN Number 1G2PG9791GP276888. It may be that we don't have it in the database yet, but be sure to check that you have typed it correctly. Be sure to try back often, we're constantly updating the database.

Running a "copy and paste" of the VIN, so I know I typed it right, on CarFax's site it returns:

VIN: 1G2PG9791GP276888
Year/Make/Model: 1986 PONTIAC FIERO GT
Search Results: 9 records found in our database

Note that this is a VIN decoder and not a history check.

When I scan my 86 se I get the following:

There are 1 1986 FIERO SE 2 DR vehicles (0.051%) matching your exact options list. There are 1 (0.051%) with at least as many options.

It seems pretty rare, surprising since it felt like just a normal SE to me. Too bad ..

When I run my 86 GT I get:

There are 1 1986 FIERO GT 2 DR vehicles (0.068%) matching your exact options list. There are 2 (0.136%) with at least as many options.

Didn't work on my 88 Fiero. Try this VIN decoder.
